Stayed in hillcrest at the weekend as part of a hen party, an excellent place to stay located a five minute walk from the centre of town, rooms were decorated lovely and were spotlessly clean and the beds are extremely confortable! A wonderful breakfast served cooked fresh to set you up for the day, we loved the array of welsh dragons and spiders dotted around. there's an honesty bar just off the breakfast room which is a great idea but there was no problem bringing your own drinks either, Dave and Trisha were great hosts all weekend and nothing was too much trouble I would highly reccommend a stay here if your visiting Llangollen!

We booked this for my hen do through an event company so didn't really know what to expect. have to say we were all pleasantly surprised, the decor is a little kitch downstairs but you know what it adds to the charm, all the rooms upstairs are very nicely decorated with a variety of twin, doubles, family rooms etc. Beds very comfortable and plenty of facilties in each rooms. My only negative comment is the water pressure is poor in the shower I barely managed to get a trickle out of mine I don't know if it was just the volume of people trying to shower at the same time but on both days I could barely wash due to the lack of water and perhaps too they could provide a hand towel in the bathroom (2 bath towels were provided). the big selling point of Hillcrest is the owners Dave & Trish, they were lovely!! Very warm welcoming people and made us feel at home in their house. We had been informed by our event company that we could bring our own booze for the hen but on arrival I don't think poor Trish had been informed of this and handled the situation very well. She let us empty their beer fridge and put our own in, now I M not encouraging this and certainly would contact the owners before doing this but they could have easily refused to let this happen and insist on us buying from their bar. they also allowed us to host an evening of games ( remember it was a hen do) in their front living room and we all had a lovely evening. the breakfast was decent too, plenty of juices, cereals and a full English too so can not complain and Trish will even do up a packed lunch on request. location wise it's not too far out from the centre of Llangollen only a short walk across the bridge really and you can do it comfortably in heels too!! there is parking at the rear of the house probably enough for about 6 cars and they have a small courtyard out the back too. the do have a cute little dog who was very friendly and never a bother tous infant you barely knew the dog was there.
Would definitely recommend Hillcrest and would have no hesitation in staying with Dave & Trish again.

Room Tip: the front double room has a beautiful big bay window and nice and light. there also is a lovely dou...

Glad you had a good weekend. Really sorry about the water pressure, we had a new one put in before the start of the season but it turned out not to be powerful enough and since then have upgraded the pump. The plumbing in this big old Victorian house can be a bit temperamental and the electrical storm didnt help with this pump before you came! Hopefully problem solved :)

We have been staying at Hillcrest for a week to ten days every July for the last ten years. We come to LLangollen every year for the International Musical Eisteddfod.Hillcrest is a little Gem and the owners Dave and Trish are lovely people, nothing is too much trouble for them. We have stayed at lots of different places in and near Llangollen over the years, but since finding Hillcrest ten years ago we would not stay anywhere else. Hillcrest serves an excellent breakfast, with a good choice of cereal and fruit juices, followed by bacon, egg, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes and hash browns, finished off with toast and a wide choice of jams and marmalade. tea or coffee.
The bedrooms are spotless and all have en suite showers, televisions and a hospitality tray.. There is also a Bedroom on the ground floor for those not able to climb the stairs. There is a communal lounge with a large Television and a separate breakfast room. The town is about ten minutes walk, so you can leave the car in the car park at the back of the accommodation.
We would not hesitate in recommending Hillcrest to anyone, it is like home from home. Well done Dave and Trish.

We booked this B&B with a group of friends at relatively short notice and were very well looked after, the room was very comfortable and we felt very welcome. The owner also went out of his way to offer a taxi service to a nearby station one evening which was much appreciated. The car park was very useful (tight to get into, but my friend's 4x4 managed to squeeze in) and the B&B is perfectly located near the centre of town.

The only improvement I would suggest would be to the breakfast - for example the inclusion of local sausages would have been an additional bonus. However we were still well set up for the day and can't fault the overall experience - I would definitely recommend Hillcrest to others.

I am glad you enjoyed yourself and you are most welcome again! Just one small point we do use local sausages for our breakfast. Once in a blue moon we might run out before seeing our supplier and had to get some quickly and our apologies if this happened on your watch.

We stayed here as a group, the rooms were nice and clean, good location, breakfast was nice, animals are welcome, car park enterance very tight so steady as you go, however, entry of room once your in.
We stayed two nights, and did us well for what needed.

Room Tip: Ask for the bigger rooms as the smaller ones are very small!

Thank you for your review. Yes we have two twin rooms with wardrobe, side tables and chairs but unfortunately we just cannot fit in extras that we have in the other rooms. Wish we could push the walls out a bit further but I hope the comfort and decor made up for this :)

This B&B was fantastic, warm, welcoming and relaxed. The owners were polite welcoming helpful and you didn't feel uncomfortable asking about things or if you had a problem. The rooms were very cosy, very clean and had everything you needed. The communal lounge downstairs was warm and a great idea with sky tv and board games. The breakfast/dinning room was large, but yet again warm and the idea of an open bar was brilliant. The breakfast in the morning was lovely with a wide range of cereals, jams, juices and different teas was on offer plus fresh coffee, toast and a lovely cooked breakfast of sausage, eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatos and hash brown.
The location is in a quiet area just out of town with adeqate parking which means a great nights sleep is in offer.
Over all the value for the rooms and the facilities was fantastic and would recommend this B&B to anybody.
