Hard to find, on back streets but well worth a visit. Two floors of local artsit works. Some items for sale. Wet day must, there are childrens work shops so check when available, materials available form the kiddies. Very helpful staff.

Lovely gallery with very expensive paintings. Nothing that I would care to purchase but it was fun to look. I am amazed that one could get an interest free loan to purchase artwork.

A lovely day enjoying a workshop run by Welsh artist Catrin Williams. The gallery is well appointed , lovely rooms well set out. Showing some wonderful Welsh art. Personal and friendly.

This is a smaller affair than the Royal Academy in London. It is in a converted chapel just behind Plas Mawr; the RCA was in Plas Mawr for over a century but couldn't keep it up, so Cadw has it now. The RCA, like the RA in London, is an artists' co-operative with changes of exhibitions every couple of months. The exhibitions vary in style and oscillate between superb and awful, between five stars and two, so four is a fair average.
So if the first show you go to does not take your fancy, go again another time - you can guarantee it will be different. If you call, you may find yourself wandering round with an art class in progress - nobody will mind you and you can watch artists doing their thing.

This is a really wonderful exhibition covering over 6000 years of bronzes. They are set out in different themes (eg human form, animals, reliefs etc) rather than chronologically. We liked the groupings in this way. There is just enough information by each exhibit and the whole experience was most satisfying.
