Owner description: Built in the late 13th century and reputed to be haunted by a past resident, this picturesque castle was built for King Edward I and is a perfect example of the "concentric castle" design.

“Plenty of exercise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2013

The castle is a ruins, but there is just enough reconstruction to make it possible to tour the towers and see what is there. Lots of spiral staircases with three levels to tour. The gift shop had some nice locally made items for reasonable prices. Conwy is truely an historic village, but they do not try to scam the tourists. They do a lovely job of presenting their history.

“Fantastic veiw and battlements”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2013

The grounds are good but the battlements are fantastic,a great place for a visit. looking over the bridge to the sea. it was blowing a bit up at the top, the little shop sell most things you could want from an historical castle, parking is a bit of a faf but so what. good place to take the children there imagination soon takes over and all sorts of questions start flying at you ,did King Aurthur live here, were there dragons here in the olden days?

“Stunning scenery - must visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013

We went there in June and we were truly blessed with the weather. It was such a lovely day, bright blue sky with beautiful sunshine.
The drive there, from Chester, didn't take that long and the castle was easy to find using sat-nav.
Parking was pretty hard to find, I imagine this to be a common problem during the peak visiting periods, as the parking lot was relatively small.
I definitely recommend going up the towers as well, as the view from the castle is just priceless.

There is also a gift shop, which has everything from the likes of pens etc to jewellery and homey things.

“WOW”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2013

This castle is located overlooking the seaside beautiful village of Conwy. It's a well-preserved castle with extensive grounds to cover. Our visit was on a sunny day and the view at the top of any of the many towers is spectacular! Sheep grazing inland and a harbor of beautiful sailboats on the bay side, 360 degrees of beauty! MUST SEE!
