Description: The Aberconwy Resort and Spa on the north coast of Wales is a seaside retreat which boasts its very own gourmet restaurant. Signatures is a swanky affair – and its slate walls, vanilla leather chairs and chi-chi chandeliers are the perfect backdrop for relaxed nights out with friends and family. The restaurant has a theatre-style kitchen run by Executive Chef Jimmy Williams, and the modern British menu at Signatures includes a variety of Welsh classics including the duo of lamb with creamed leeks, pancetta and potato gratin, and the Welsh cheese platter. Locals also love the chorizo and spring onion risotto with chive oil, and the restaurant's excellent selection of fine wines.

We spent a lovely evening with friends at Signatures, from being greeted at the door to leaving 'attention to detail' made it a truly memorable occasion for us all. The food was exquisite and the service excellent! It was interesting to watch the chefs in action..... their precision, routine and exactness in presentation was a delight to observe. The lamb and welsh beef were brilliant mains as were the bisque, trio of pork and bacon confit starters. Excellent wine selection too - from a prestigious wine company. Cocktails good too. 9.5 out of 10 for me ...... If the waiter had put my napkin on my lap i would have given it a 10/10. We will return again and recommend to friends. Thank you for a memorable evening.

The service was excellent the staff were friendly and very attentive but not over the top! We all ordered a starter, main and desert and the food was exceptional! I enjoyed watching the chefs work at the pass and the kitchen was calm and seemed very well run. My only criticism would be that the Yorkshire puddings weren't cooked to order and had gone a little dry waiting to be served! This aside we had a very pleasurable experience and will be returning again soon.

- no doubt about it but don't ask me why as there is no single reason. The executive chef and his staff are obviously brilliant at producing high quality cuisine and the waiting staff are equally brilliant with the service directed by the best maitre d' that I have ever come across. The dining room is modern and of good taste.and it's only drawback is that the casual visitor to Conwy may never know about this hidden gem because of it's fairly remote location. I have lunched there twice this week and the quality and presentation of the food is now reaching unbelievable heights. You can see the chefs at work and appreciate the care and attention taken in preparing the dishes - we just had to take photos of the food as the presentation seemed like a work of art .For a restaurant of this quality the prices are reasoable but when you take advantage of the free membership they offer your bill can have a nice reduction. Congratulations to them on their award which I think they fully dererve.

Visited recently and must say the food is very good. It was recommended to us by some friends. We found the fact that we had to arrive via a barrier a bit off putting which is obviously there for site security. This means stopping speaking to a 'man in an office' who does lack some social graces expected when arriving at an expensive venue. We then had to say who we were and give our registration number. Quite why he can't see this for himself is unclear especially with CCTV. We then had to ask if we were in the right place for Signatures. No information was volunteered. It is unclear certainly in the dark if you haven't been before. We parked and walked a short way to the restaurant. We were greeted by a young man who was not very clear in what he was saying. We asked to go straight to our table once we had understood what he was saying to us. Drinks were served quickly but it was a while before our order was taken. Again the staff were not very clear communicators. However a lady did serve the main course, sweets and coffee and she was very good. The food is of a very high standard as is the cutlery and crockery but for us the place lacks a bit of atmosphere and intimacy some of the staff haven't quite got what it takes! There are long bench type seats which reminded me of American diners. The place is also quite large so not the most cosy of places on a winters night. The bill for 2 with a couple of drinks and 3 courses was over £100. We would have valued this more realistically at around £70. So in summary good food, very expensive for the environment it is in and lacks atmosphere. Unlikely to go again.
