Excellent restaurant, very lucky to have such a lovely place to dine at in Abergavenny.
As always the staff were very attentive and the food delicious and flavoursome.
Always good for a take away as well.

“Wonderful to have this restaurant in town.”

Superb food on 2 occasions. Excellent value for money.
The service on the second occasion was not great but the quality of food was enough to lift the whole evening.
I will be back!

“Not what I hoped for,but!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

Turned up on spec,at 6.30 and fully booked. OK were fitted in and settled down to a nice well spaced and interesting room. The staff were new and nervous but happy and attentive. My family were looking forward to something new and different to try .I know my geography but so many of the dishes were ? Indian in origin with a so called Nepalese twist to see much difference.
I have cooked several Gurkha curries (some absolute fab recipes from the army) that some of these were a little disappointing.
However the Lumbini beef curry was a real hit There was a good selection of starters, the momos went down well with my son but the chicken biryani was a disappointment ,dry no bread or raita
On the whole it was reasonable. Early days and I really hope they move away from the indian side of the food to more traditional Gurkha cuisine which is to die for.
I hope its just trying to get its name known and then progressing in giving us Brits a true taste of Nepalese food

“Better than anticipated!”

We hadn't booked, just turned up at 7pm unannounced, we were seated immediately but were told that we would have to be finished by 8.30. This was fair enough as they were almost fully booked. We ordered the premium taster menu, it was exquisite!the salmon was divine and the tiger prawn dish was to die for. Service was attentive and atmosphere was ambient.

Book, don't just turn up. It sent particularly cheap, but was worth it!

“Beyond what was expected”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013

Arranged to meet some friends here (did book in advance) and they scored me 2 out of 2 having last eaten at The Llanwenarth Arms with them which we thoroughly enjoyed.

I think it is important to acknowledge the respects paid by the staff when addressing us, always Sir or Ma'am and said with sincerity not shallowness. The staff will do anything to ensure your experience is a positive one.

We ordered one of the set menu's which was excellent value for money. The wine list is respectable and reasonably priced - the Malbac was excellent along with the Chardonnay!

The food was really great, from the poppadum's, to the starters, mains and pudding. Would not hesitate to eat here again, or, take friends here! The choice is wide, so much so we opted for the set menu as it was so difficult to choose! There are two sittings 1800 and 2030 and I would recommend a reservation as it is so busy.

Will certainly be returning here and wouldn't hesitate to take friends & relatives.
