My daughter treated us to a wonderful high tea in a pleasant dining room that was full with people enjoying the experience. Wisely she had chosen the high tea which includes a plate of various hot pastries as well as sandwiches and cakes, a delight for me as I prefer savoury foods to sweet. Having said that, the mini trifle was divine and I could not resist the scone that was served hot as a second course. All the staff were welcoming and helpful, especially about the numerous teas available. This is an experience that could not fail to delight and was a lovely surprise treat. The only negative was that when we got home, we excitedly opened our "doggie bag", which was a beautifully wrapped box, only to discover that our leftover savoury items had not been included, only the sweet cakes. However my daughter was able to console me by saying we'll have to go back again soon. I'm already looking forward to it.
