Description: Destaniyz Stone Baked Pizzeria is a family run restaurant that is bringing new tastes to Abergavenny. As well as serving traditional thin crust pizza that is baked in our stone-bake oven, we are serving traditional Turkish dishes like lahmacun (a pizza like thin round dough base topped with minced lamb and finely chopped vegetables) and pide (a traditional Turkish dish dating back thousands of years consisting of freshly made dough resembling the shape of a boat with an exquisite variety of toppings) needless to say, baked fresh in our stone-bake oven. With a vast array of traditional Turkish dishes and more well known popular dishes, we have created a restaurant that has a great mix of dishes to suit every palate.Breakfast to be served from 9am - 4pm Alcohol license runs from 12 noon - 9pm We accept all major types of credit and debit cards. Opening hours: Tuesday - Sunday 9am-9pm. Closed on Mondays.

“A brilliant discovery in a beautiful hill town.”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

On a two day break in Wales (from London) we discovered this Turkish/fusion licensed restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious (we had pide and shepherd's salad), prepared with tasty, fresh ingrediants, and the service was really friendly. It's a family business, and apart from Turkish food, the menu offers a wide range of British and European foods, grills, breakfasts and children's meals.
The food was fresh, tasty and very reasonably priced. The house red wine was delicious.
We will definitely go there again next time we visit.

“Great food and attentive service”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

We visited early on a Friday evening, having read previous great reviews on TripAdvisor and were not disappointed! Turkish cuisine isn't something we can get in our home area, but the food (prepared by the owner's sister, we were told) was very tasty, filling and enjoyable and very reasonably priced too - as was the carafe of wine we enjoyed.

The restaurant also offers a takeaway service, but most of the people we saw were dining in - it was fairly quiet at the time we went (6.30pm), but the owner was very cheerful and said he was pleased with how business was growing at this relatively new establishment. The waiter was on his first night, but was doing well, and the owner kept an eagle eye on all proceedings: he was very helpful, even coming to offer me a replacement coffee after I stupidly managed to spill some of mine all over the table!

The portions are good-sized and we certainly went away full - having made a note to visit Destaniyz again the next time we are visiting Abergavenny.

“Once you eat here you won't be going else where!!!”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

Went in for a meal with my girl friend as we were only visiting Abergavenny and we were very hungry and the place look very desirable with a great selection. We had no idea that a small restaurant could serve such good quality food, me and my partner were extremely impressed with the food and the service. We will definitely be going to eat there again every time we visit Abergavenny. We might be moving to Abergavenny soon and this restaurant will surely be a our regular place of eating.

“Tasty, freshly prepared good quality food with huge portions.”

Good sized portions.it wasn't too spicy. I'll be going back there next month.
Try the starters and then the lamb burgers. Makes a good change from the usual Chinese or curry.
