We have passed here a few times and decided to call in on the recent bank holiday. The restaurant area is lovely and although it was fairly busy, we were shown to a table straight away, the waiting staff were lovely.

The food was really nice and perfect portion sizes. We ordered the rosemary carrots as an extra side but they just tasted like normal carrots so not sure what happened there but the meals really were spot on with a nice selection on the menu and extras on the specials boards.

We had the ham hock terrine for starters which was really nice, supreme of chicken and faggots for mains, both really good and although we were stuffed, we did share a dessert off the specials board, the white and dark chocolate mousse with fruit coulis. It was very good but glad we shared one, it was massive!

It is slightly more expensive than some places but the quality is there. I don't know that we could afford the go here "just because" but we will certainly be retuning for a special occasion.

We didn't plan to stop ( just using the car-park to turn around) but after a long bike ride we decided to stop and get something to eat here.
We asked in the bar if there was a table and got taken straight through to the restaurant. The waitress kindly gave us a larger table due to our motor bike gear (helmets and jackets), gave us menu's and took our drink order.
We ordered our meals, Beef bourguignon for me (from the specials) and a roast beef dinner for hubby. The food came quickly and was piping hot.
My beef was lovely, very tender and served with horseradish mash potato and parsnip crisps (very nice) , but maybe could've done with a little bit of veggies.
Hubbies roast was great, massive home made yorkie (makes a change from the 'aunt bessie' types in most restaurants these days!), with new and roast potatoes and a dish of veggies. Extra gravy was no problem when my husband asked for it.
The price was okay too, £25 for both meals and 2 drinks.
It's great to find a 'nice' place like this that welcomed bikers, we'll be back.

A very nice meal at a reasonable cost for Sunday lunch out. Large portion sizes and a good choice of menu. Children's menu also good with larger than normal servings! Service was a little slow but well worth the wait. Lovely desserts, especially the creme brule.

My husband and I stopped in here for a quick drink and lunch and everything was perfect. It was Mother's Day so the place was busy but we weren't overlooked. Lovely meal and friendly helpful staff! Will drop in again for sure!

We stopped here whilst travelling, it was Mothering Sunday and we had already been turned away from another pub as they were fully booked so we were not expecting much however I have to say that we were very impressed, they found us a table in the bar which was fine and we ate off the main menu, the food was delicious and very satisfying despite being very very busy the staff were friendly and helpful. We will def go back of we are in the area.
