“Small, but interesting place to get a perspective of the areas history”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

Despite its limited space, you do get a good overview of the areas history from what the have on display.Situated between the town and the river it is also a good place to enjoy some open space if of course its a good sunny day.

“Quick walk through the grounds upon arrival”
Reviewed September 30, 2012 via mobile

The Castle was literally right behind our cottage and the Angel Hotel. We had just arrived after 4pm. Still had daylight an walked the grounds that were lovely and olde worldly. No cost and just beautiful with the light coming through the castle remains. We did not tour the museum.

“Grounds are nice”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

The grounds of the castle are great for letting a 2 year old run free and climb about but the museum opening hours are not very convenient (they don't open until 11am) and although it's fine for adults it doesn't have anything to inspire a toddler

“Certainly worth a visit”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

A very interesting small museum. Quite a random mix of exhibits but very interesting. Particularly liked the photographs of the Beatles visit in 1963 and the connection between Abergaveny and Rudolph Hess during the second world war. Set aside about an hour.

“Interesting local facility”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

This small but quaint museum is manned largely by volunteers, has free admission and contains a restricted number of artefacts illustrating the long history of the town. Well worth taking a look.
