“Better places to go......”
Reviewed August 10, 2014

Went here on a very hot day Sunday afternoon, so sat outside in the courtyard. We asked for a sparkling water each but they had sold out so we asked for a coke and bottle of lager instead. Both came out 'warm' and the lager was not chilled in anyway. We did ask for a cold one but were told there weren't any but they could get us some ice? We ordered the two course special meal which was reasonable value but the service was very slow despite only a few tables being full. By the time the food eventually came it was tasty and cooked well but by then the drinks were long gone. When the bill arrived we were charged for 3 courses each and did not get an apology when this was pointed out. Overall, lovely food but they need to learn how to serve cold drinks and keep customers updated about how long their meal is likely to be. Would we recommend? No, as there are much better restaurants out there which can offer better service.

This restaurant is tucked away in an alley , in Abergavenny , the food is amazing . There is a lunch time specials menu ( very good choices ).Wine by the bottle is not cheap , but worth a go!
On a sunny day chill outside , seating inside, for the British summer .

“First time for years and just WOW!”
Reviewed July 31, 2014 via mobile

Although natives of Abergavenny, we are in-frequent visitors to the town, now living in Spain. It has been several years since we visited this restaurant and we were not impressed then. What a transformation! Great food, great selection, great service and great prices, we shall return - TOMORROW!

“Very enjoyable..”
Reviewed July 29, 2014

Enjoyed eating on the front terrace on a warm evening with good service. Excellent starter of fresh sardines in a type of pastry case...well done chef - an inspired dish. Risotto of the day was very good and was a large portion. Disappointed that the white wine (by the glass) was warm and had to put an ice cube in! This was due to a temporary problem with a fridge, I understand.

We have been here on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. Wide selection of dishes with generous portions. Staff are always friendly. Highly recommended for lunch or an evening meal.
