“Not a major item on a visitor check-list”
Reviewed March 15, 2012

This old barn was renovated a couple of years ago and now houses a tapestry completed in 2000 by local women from the adjacent St Mary'sChurch. There is a small museum and some high priced gifts. Food is a bit hit and miss but can be pleasant in the summer when eaten in the courtyard.

“The Tithe Barn has to be visited. The restaurant is good if you want a snack.”
Reviewed February 28, 2012

The Tapestry made in 2000 just has to be viewed and will be there for hundreds of years. In the restaurant the meals were good quality and would have been given top marks if we had paid 'lite bites' prices but we paid meal prices. The manageress never smiled and neither the staff.

“Charming little place to eat”
Reviewed February 19, 2012

Nestled in the wonky but charming tithe barn you can go upstairs for an exhibition or eat downstairs / outside in the courtyard. Lovely food and a nice place to go if you're in Abergavenny one weekend shopping.

“Not perfect, but good”
Reviewed January 28, 2012

Nice decor, smiling and capable waitress. Fast service, though the place was quiet. Limited vegetarian choice, but the food was fresh. My mushrooms with cream and garlic was good, though the addition of lemon juice had curdled the cream a little. Fresh and plentiful salad, good prices, good coffee.

It's difficult to find a decent place for lunch in Abergavenny, and many places fill up at lunchtime, but the Food Hall was a good find, and with more choice for vegetarians I'd certainly go back there again.
