“Nothing special”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2013

Not overly impressed with the restaurant we booked for Sunday lunch which was very average, the staff were quite surly except to the locals. Definitely won't be going again.

“Amazing meal”

Had been looking forward to a visit here for ages and it did not disappoint. We had a wonderful meal including the sharing plate of beef which was amazing. Will definitely return.

“Brilliant Menu & Cosy atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

Came for lunch for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. The Hardwick came recommended and I was impressed with the entire restaurant. From the stylish, cosy and maybe a little quirky bar area to the simple, warm ambience of the dining room - I enjoyed being there. Found the menu to be imaginative, seasonal and brilliantly executed. Started off with a round of proseccos with blood orange and moved on from there. We each made sure we each ordered different items so we could get a taste of everything. We tried the Smoked Haddock Brandada, Native Breed Frankfurter Hotdog and the Oyster Mushrooms on Toasted Sour Dough for starters. All terrific. mains were delicious and well presented too - we tried Pan Fried Cod, Grilled Free range chicken and Lamb Rump. Desserts were something else too - beautiful to look at and so yummy! The egg custard with poached pear in particular was gorgeously set out. Service was ok could have been a tad friendlier. But not a deal breaker. Well worth the trip if you are out that way.

“birthday treat made special”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

We had been wanting to try the Hardwick for a while so booked a table to celebrate my birthday. Staff were attentive and friendly making us feel welcome. Enjoyed a wonderful 3 course lunch with some delicious wine. Stephen Terry came out at the end of our lunch to say hello which really topped off a really lovely meal experience for us. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be hoping to return in the future. Thankyou for making a lovely birthday meal even more special.

“Great restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013

Excellent food and service. The beef platter to share for main was amazing, different cuts of beef served perfectly. The starters were a good size, though maybe too much when you consider the size of the mains too, do save room for dessert though, the lemon crunch with meringue was delicious.
