“Lovely B&B, Great Breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2010

Lovely old house, really comfortable rooms, great location and a delicious breakfast (using local produce).
A great place for a cosy weekend away. Abergavenny is a super little town surrounded by beautiful countryside and an amazing number of good restaurants.
Mandy and Tony Kromrei are lovely hosts.
All in all - lovely!

We were very uncomfortable staying here due to the rudeness of the hosts and staff. On our initial days, our impressions were that they were friendly but as the days passed (we stayed here for almost two weeks) we got to experience how they really were. What made it even more uncomfortable were the arguing amongst the owners.
Furthermore, they were VERY tight on providing blankets, teas and coffees - even the toilet roll in the shared bathroom was most of the time non existent.
The positives - it was clean, and the areas were cleaned on a daily basis.

This may sound like an odd reply, but are you sure you stayed at Park Guest House in Abergavenny? We have no record whatsoever of anyone staying for 2 weeks last November (2009)...
If you did stay with us, in reponse to your comments, all rooms have duvets on the beds, and there are extra blankets and pillows in the wardrobes. The house is centrally heated.
The rooms are cleaned daily and all tea/coffee etc is replenished. More is available if you request it.
Each bathroom (whether en-suite or shared) is checked and cleaned at least daily - toilet rolls etc are replaced and extras left in the holders that are there for that purpose.
Assuming you did stay at Park Guest House, Abergavenny, all of these problems would have been easy to address - did you speak to us so we could have had the chance to sort them out?

I stayed for 3 nights at the Park Guest House in early December and everything was wonderful. Clean premises, excellent breakfast and the best thing is they have a common lounge area filled with brochures, guides, info, which is great for those preparing to walk around the peaks near Abergavenny. it's 5 minutes walk to the towncentre/bus station and 15 minutes to the train station.
