Had a very pleasant night here. Well located, right in the centre of Abergavenny, nice rooms with everything you could need. Very friendly staff, who were patient with our big group, and very helpful - they even posted back (without being asked!) some small items I had left in the room, which was incredibly kind. Fantastic breakfast!

I stayed one night in mid June and was pleased with the single room in which I stayed. The staff members were friendly, the room quiet and the breakfast was excellent and plentiful. I very much enjoyed Abergavenny and hope to return to The King's Head on a future trip.

My husband wanted a typically British break for his Birthday (8 hours continual rain)and Abergavenny was our first stop so hence the pub with rooms. It was very quiet being a Sunday and they close at 4pm. We had a very pleasant one night stay at The King's Head. The uneven floors made me feel a little like I was on the ocean! Lovely room on the front. (Like to look what's going on). Friendly family welcome and very substantial Welsh breakfast. We didn't eat again until evening! Our room was situated at the top of the building where we prefer to be. All very good minus the rain of course.

I booked 4 rooms in this delightful inn for family. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We wre all pleased we stayed here. Note that Friday evening is a music evening, which ended at 1am. However this did not disturb us. If required ask for a quiet room. Breakfast traditional Welsh, staff even made up a bacon sandwich for my son who was loathed to leave the comfy bed. Note this is a 4* inn not a large hotel and not a chain of inns. A very positive experience

We picked this for proximity to the theatre for an overnight stay, and couldn't have chosen better. A friendly welcome, comfortable well-equipped room, and excellent breakfast - what more could you want.

Room Tip: Back rooms are best as the main street can get noisy, apparently.

Venue fifty nine at the kings head has a lovely menu with homemade pies and local produce. Our favourite is the lasagna good food at good prices in a lovely venue. The tables are well spaced and decoration homely and soft. We have been several times and it is always busy, on the high street with car parks near.
