“Glan Gwna Beautiful, peaceful park, great location and base”

I stayed for 2 nights on 16th June 2017 with my mum and sister and 3 little Yorkshire terriers. It’s a lovely chalet, very clean, has everything you need and dog friendly, Diana, the owner was very helpful and made us feel very welcome even our dogs was welcomed with drinking bowl and treats upon arrival. Glan Gwna is a very beautiful, peaceful park, one of the best I have ever stayed, it has a river running through it and surrounded by woodlands, very tranquil. The park has great onsite facilities, pool, bar, shop, café and children’s play area; it’s good for all ages. It’s in a excellent location close to Caernarfon town can be there within 5min drive, close to Snowdonia mountain range Llanberis is within 15-20 min drive and Anglesey and Conwy within 30min drive. It’s a good base for local attractions, lovely beaches there are a few within 30 min driving distance or even if you wish to stay local and relax. I will be returning and definitely recommend this chalet and park to others.

“Well equipped but very bijou”
Reviewed October 2, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Beautiful location with plenty of facilities on the well landscaped site, and a great base for exploring Snowdonia and Anglesey as it is all close by. The cabin, however, is small. It was adequate for a couple (and small dog) but I wouldn't like to stay there with other adults. The kitchen was very well equipped but tiny. Definitely a one-person kitchen. Good phone signals but the wifi was too weak to be of any use. The seating and beds were comfortable, and everywhere was clean. I would recommend it for a couple with maybe one child or 2 toddlers. The cabin and whole site was dog friendly, although there is no enclosed outdoor area, which wasn't a problem for us. It is a long way up a hill, but easy enough to drive down and park at the bottom where there are loads of parking spaces. There are steps up from the parking area to the front door.

“A lovely holiday”
Reviewed August 13, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

This is a great place for children, we had a great time. Diana is great to deal with and was very helpful to me with any questions I had before we came for our stay. Caeathro is lovely and everyone was really nice. Our kids want to return again they really enjoyed it.

“Not as pet friendly as we'd hoped”
Reviewed June 30, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We returned early - we had booked until Saturday but could only manage it until Wednesday. Very small chalet with little room for us, never mind the dogs. There was no secure area to allow the dogs to be outside, without supervision, and no room in the chalet to accommodate 4 adults and 2 dogs. The communication and helpfulness of Diana can't be faulted and there was little she could do that would have made the holiday any better. The fact that it was described as "pet friendly" was a bit of a stretch as nothing was done to make it fit this statement, as even the poolside bar didn't allow dogs in - even though it was stated in the comments that they were made welcome. If we wanted to go out to eat it meant one of us had to stay home with the dogs - or sit outside - but as it was probably the wettest week in June when we went, this was not possible. The weather - although impossible to change - made it even more of a problem as there was nowhere to dry clothes etc and the launderette cost £4 a wash and then another £4 to dry the load! Another thing that should have been mentioned was the steep hill up to the chalet. I'm waiting for knee surgery and really struggled going up and down it to empty the bin, so I would not recommend it to anyone who may have similar health issues. A problem I also had was having to take the dogs out on their leads to go to the toilet late at night, as there were no lights on and it is completely dark on the complex and I had 2 leads and the torch on my mobile phone to lead the way as I traversed the wet slippy road and had to go down the steep metal stairway and then up the steep hill! Terrifying!! Saying all this, I would still recommend it to non-pet owners as it is well situated and there are a lot of choices for places to go. It just wasn't for us.
A word of warning, if you go into Conway, please don't stub your cigarette out on the ground, as my daughter was fined £75! I KNOW she should have put it in a bin, but there were none around and before it had time to cool enough for her to pick it up to dispose of it the "man-from-the-council-with-the-cctv-camera-around-his-neck " rushed over and issued her with a £75 fine, apparently it doesnt matter if you offer to pick it up, they still caution you and issue the fine! AND they don't HAVE to provide bins for you to dispose of them, you're supposed to carry the potential fire hazardous item with you until you find a bin. We take full responsibility and accept we have to pay the fine, this really is just a cautionary tale to any future tourists to Conway, as we really did get our fingers burnt with this mistake and it put a bit of a taint on our visit to Conway.

“Excellent short break walking stay”
Reviewed April 6, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Lovely and clean and full of everything you need for a self contained chalet. Site was lovely with nice views and walks around the holiday park. We wanted a place close to Snowdon as we wanted to climb it and this was well positioned for our needs. It was also easy for stocking up at the supermarkets of which there were 3 to choose from. We will definitely tell family and friends about this wonderful place to have a relaxing or full on break.

“Autumn holiday”

Excellent chalet both very clean and well appointed as is the chalet site. We found it ideal for touring Snowdonia, local beaches and the shops in Caernarfon.
