Owner description: After all these years Caernarfon’s immense strength remains undimmed. A brute of a fortress. Caernarfon Castle’s pumped-up appearance is unashamedly muscle-bound and intimidating. Picking a fight with this massive structure would have been a daunting prospect. By throwing his weight around in stone, King Edward I created what is surely one of the most impressive of Wales’s castles. Worthy of World Heritage status no less.

My husband and I visited here in July. we went to Beaumaris castle first and got an explorer pass excellent value if your doing a few attractions. This castle was mindbogglingly huge. Loads to see so many corridors, exhibitions, history. Its lovely we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and after there are loads of shops, bars and café s to explore.

Been three times in my life. Must go again. You do need a head for heights though. Had to have a rest as I am scared of heights. Worth going to the top tower though. Lovely town, stayed at the Black Boy Inn close by. Great value all round trip. Caught the old steam train to Caernafon. Would recommend this to everyone. A great couple of days.

This is a must when visiting Wales. This imposing castle includes almost the entire town. I just loved driving through the great walls and right up to the castle. This is really worth a look and take the time to liste to the history of the castle and the welsh people with is located in the turrents of the outer walls of the castle. I bit of climbing up and down stairs and a walk around the parapet looking through the slots where they would have fired the crossbows. All very interesting.

This is an idyllic castle centred in the middle of Caernarfon and is an excellent insight into Wales and Britain's history. Inside the castle walls is both beautiful and peaceful as well as being able to catch a spectacular view of the town of Caernarfon and its picturesque harbour. Definitely recommended for any fans of history.

Steeped in Welsh history, Prince Charles's investiture took place here. Good views from the ramparts
