Great location beside the refurbished waterfront with bars shops and restaurants near by.
Parking is not plentiful but we were one of the fortunate ones to get parked close by the hotel.
We had a spacious room on the ground floor, although there was no outlook.
The room was clean and comfortable, would us this location again.

This hotel is a pretty new build next to the marina. Not great first impression on arriving at reception. its pretty unwelcoming! Parking is across the road and is free from 6pm to 8am. There is disabled parking nearer to the hotel. My room was clean and comfortable and with the premier in good night guarantee I had a great nights sleep. It was very very quiet even though I had a room looking onto the access road, which is not busy! Gentleman on reception was very cheery and helpful. Would definitely stay here again if I am passing.

Room Tip: Room over looking the road was quiet!

We stayed here for two nights.
This is a charmless, modern hotel (built 2008) on a redeveloped site that also has a Travelodge, cinema and apartment blocks. It seemed to be purely sleeping accommodation until I found a small parlour with a settee, two armchairs and snack and drinks dispensers. Our room was quite large, pentagonal in shape with the window looking out on to a sort of quadrangle covered in grey slate chippings. The sky was not visible. The double bed was a bit harder than usual but otherwise the fittings were standard: small wardrobe, one armchair, one upright chair, desk and large wall mounted TV. The bathroom was standard as well with two bath towels and one hand towel to share. Everything was very clean.
The hotel has no car park. A pay and display is across the road but the nearest free long term car park is about 100 metres distant.
Breakfast was served in a bar restaurant (called Table Table) about 10 metres away. On the surface it looked quite smart with large windows overlooking the harbour but look closer. It was quite manky: in the buffet area, lighting was poor; where the drinks were, the disgusting carpet was like walking on toffee. The seats of the chairs were stained and the tables were marked. The buffet choice was limited but there was no boiling water for tea: hot water came from a thermos flask! The only redeeming feature was the porridge which was really excellent and arrived very promptly.
One plus point for this otherwise disappointing hotel was the staff who were very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for an outside room

Our 2nd trip to this hotel and it didn't disappoint. Again we had adjoining rooms - essential for a big family. Breakfast great as usual. Car park is a few minutes walk so don't forget your coat as rain can be heavy. Great location for visiting castle.

After a fantastic stay last time, we expected similar this time. I am afraid we where disappointed the best we can give it this time is average. The room we where given was small (121) compared with the one we had last time. Some of the lights did not work, the TV was at funny angle offset from the bed, with no adjustment. The bed was a lot harder than the last one, when we stayed previously (not good sleep quality). Breakfast at £8.75 a person with tea made out of flasks of hot water is very expensive unless your firm is picking up the tab. Best advice go to Morrison's 2 minutes down the road, far better and 1/3 the price. Altogether ok for an odd night if you can get a good price on the room.
