“Lovely cottage, but felt on edge”
Reviewed September 3, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

lovely, clean homely cottage but it fails to mention on the site that the cottage is adjoining the owners cottage on one side and another rental on the other. On arriving in two cars, because we bought our pooch, this seemed a problem.

The cottage is very well equipped and very clean. The hot tub was superb.

The welcome wasn't warm or friendly although the bread and eggs that were in our cottage were lovely. The list of "don'ts" everywhere was overwhelming and sun bed advertised on the site was suddenly not allowed to be used without the owner being in the room with me, disappointing (oddly, the couple in the adjoining cottage who were known to the owners were using it, locking the door on the shared facilities and leaving us unable to use the gym).

So, we ventured out everyday with our pooch and returned to a cleaned cottage which was nice. On the fourth day this stopped, I wonder if this because the owners realised we were clean people, hadn't stolen or broken anything and that our pooch was clean and well behaved? On the one agreed day we could leave our pooch in the cottage we returned to our front door being left wide open and our dog roaming. We were told it was because our dog wouldn't stop barking. Our pooch is a daft, lazy pooch who never barks and is quite happy to sleep. Again, I believe this was a preventative measure, in the event he might have made a

We are very pleased that the cottage was lovely & clean..and that the home baked bread & fresh eggs were also pleasing.
We try to keep the cottages as clean as possible throughout the stay (Hence "serviced accommodation"..) emptying bins etc..& generally tidying up ( even hoovering dog hairs).
When you booked the cottage, we discussed at great length the usual problems with leaving pet dogs unattended. We agreed that you could leave your golden retriever( labrador) for a few hours so that you could all go to the attraction that you booked..leaving me in charge of your dog so that if he did bark..i would be able to put him outside to roam & take his mind off being left alone. This happens to many dogs, including my own,..' very well behaved quiet dog.'
3 minutes after you left..he started barking repeatedly..and it was a ' cry for help' bark. As you pointed out, we had other new guests staying in the adjoining cottage & were still in bed..so i decided to open up & give him some reassurance. Unfortunately this did not work ..I then decided to leave the cottage door open ..which did somewhat calm him down. I then returned to try to close the door & he became very growly so decided i was not going to get injured.
The farm is very secure & extremely safe so he was not in any danger..and as it was discussed with yourself..i did the only thing possible in this circumstance.
REF : LIST OF "DONT'S"
we can only follow guide lines by trading standards ..but at the same time, keeping rules to the minimum.
Spa regs instructions is very important.
Not using bleach etc is also vital to the running of the treatment plant.
The gaff about supervising the use of the solarium was a joke..we were being friendly, but was obviously misinterpreted.
The gym is open 24/7 & is shared by both cottages...only locked if other guests want privacy ..showering etc...Normally it is used separately as it's not a big room.
We are always looking for ways to improve ..i think the best way forward is not to accept pets..which we have now put in place.
It's a shame as most dogs, including yours, was lovely..& we were delighted to have him here.

“Little slice of heaven”
Reviewed July 13, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Just the location itself is likely to take your breath away every morning. Really conveniently situated to a huge variety of attractions there will be plenty to fill your days. And coming back to your own private hot tub is fantastic. The cottage itself is lovely and cosy with stunning views.

The owners were incredibly welcoming and friendly and we utterly loved their dog snoopy who is absolutely gorgeous and sweet and probably the bit we'll miss most about our holiday.

The only niggles we had were that the bathroom gets very wet and we didn't know the owners would come in twice to clean and tidy things away which was a big unnerving.

Many main supermarkets deliver to the cottage which is incredibly handy if you want to have a big foodshop at the start of your holiday.

This place really does feel like a slice of heaven with the hot tub giving views of sunset and swallows nesting nearby.

Thank you for your lovely review..snoopy is a lovely dog!
As far as tidying up..its only because we have to sort the rubbish out and make sure you have clean bins ..& check if you need clean towels etc..otherwise we leave well alone.
It was lovely to meet you all and so glad you enjoyed all the facilities that we offer.. We do hope you visit us again..Kindest regards Ll Foster

“Quiet, peacefull and comfortable”
Reviewed April 16, 2012 for a stay in April 2012

Stayed two nights in Beudy Mawr cottage as I was sitting an exam at Bangor university.

I chose Beudy Mawr due to is accessibility to Bangor, facilities and it's quiet rural location.
On arrival we recieved a lovely welcome, freshly made bread and some chilled beers.

Layout of the cottage is open plan, good size bathroom, two lovely comfortable double beds and wifi access. We didn't use the spa/gym facilities though they were only next door and looked great. I would've liked the use of a cooker within but to be honest the combi microwave did the job. I'd imagine most would eat out or get take away's.

Views outside were idyllic, typical scenic view of beautiful farmland, slate fences and lambs chasing each other about.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Best qualities , quiet, peaceful and friendly.
