a great ruin overlooking the sea, the perfect place to sit and watch the starlings gather to roost under the pier and watch the sunset into the sea

This is a great place to come for a walk around and to appreciate some local history - for free. It is a very nice place to bring children as it gives them a chance to explore a little bit and there is an information board to offer a little history. Right next to the castle is the town's impressive war memorial and also the Old College of the university.

Firstly, I like to point out that usually things like this tend to have a price attached, so the very fact there isn't one automatically makes this worth visiting.

Aside from the Angel monument you can see by walking through the ruins, The place also allows you to overlook both North and South beach (Two very nice views).

Although there aren't many ruins to look around for, the place makes up for it with benches perfect for communal gatherings/picnics etc.

Excellent place to take pictures from however some of the grafitti takes away the authenticity of the 'Step back in time' experience.

Those with kids will be happy to know that if the little whipper-snappers do get bored, there is also a children's park less nearby.

The remains have been turned into a town park and therefore there is not entry fee. There really isn’t much left standing of the castle but the park was well set out and attractive. If you are in Aberystwyth then it is defiantly worth taking a stroll around here.
