“Excellent visit!!”
Reviewed July 14, 2013 via mobile

Been here a number of times and never fails to impress. Lovely setting, nice food, clean toilets and tables. A little expensive (1.20 for a can of coke!) but well worth it on a boiling hot day. Loved the ice cream, worth it just for that!

All in all an excellent visit!!

“Stunning location”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

We have often visited whilst returning home after a holiday on the Welsh Coast. Not only after the walks first rate, with clear directions and stunning views but the facilities get better every year. It's a great place to stop and have a coffee and something to eat. I have always found the staff helpful and the food well cooked and reasonably priced. Well done.

“Spectacular”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

We visited this fabulous forestry area by chance and are we glad we did, we were expecting to have a nice leisurely walk around the forests but were treated to a spectacular show by the red Kites who frequent this area. We witnessed the feeding of these wonderful birds at the feeding station by the lake (3pm in summer) and cannot put into words how spectacular the display was by hundreds of Kite which come in to feed from up to 20 miles every day. It really was an amazing experience, one not to be missed if you're in the area. The walks are lovely, quite flat and even underfoot, the lake has a number of ducks and geese and throughout the forest there are seats to sit and admire the view. Children have their own play area which was being well used when we visited, an ideal place for them to let of steam. If you're energetic the forest has bike trails which seemed to be popular but not for us!!! The tea room is large, clean and airy with outside seating available too. There is a good selection of snacks, tea/coffee and ice cream, and toilets are available.
Would highly recommend a visit.

“Don't miss it, a great experience”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

My husband had previously visited here on a mountain biking trip and wanted to return to try the walking trails and see the kites being fed. We had a great day - we did the Ridgetop Trail in the morning then watched the feeding of the kites in the afternoon. The walk was lovely, not too taxing, with some fabulous views. The kite feeding, though, was the highlight of the day. We watched it from the hide so we could see the birds up close and it was amazing. The cafe is lovely too with a good choice of meals and snacks. All in all a fab day and well worth the £3 parking fee.
