excellent hotel, clean, comfy, great food and drink! friendly staff, great sea view! i would highly recommend and stay there again!!! the only criticism i have is there seems to be a problem with the pool table, which makes the balls go in the wrong direction... opr it could be the draught bulmers??

Room Tip: room 12 was excellent!

Stayed here this weekend for a wedding in Aberystwyth, nice location great welcome and nice room with sea view.

Breakfast was lovely.

Have stayed here before, and would do so again.

Room Tip: we had room 15 with a double and single bed.

I stayed for three nights. All the staff were helpful, my room was large and clean, with nice sea views. Breakfast was good. The bar had a nice range of Real Ales, and one bar meal, that I had was nicely cooked.

Room Tip: Ask for a front room, overlooking the sea, and you will see beautiful sunsets.

Stayed here for my Niece's wedding. The staff were great, lovely welcome, and the location is great. We thought the breakfast was good. Aber is a lovely seaside town, very different to some seaside tacky places.

However, the room was small, and the bed (also small) was on a slope which meant my wife was constantly rolling into me. As others say, it needs some refurbishment.

Also, general complaint to British B&Bs, there were no shelves or hooks in the bathroom to put things.

Had a lovely room, great sea view, and a wonderful sunset. But, the hotel is dirty, the breakfast was appalling, don't stay here!

We received a friendly and efficient welcome at this hotel and staff were very helpful. The manager even offered to take my friend to the station himself if he was unable to get her a taxi early enough.

The bed was comfortable and all the linen and towels were spotlessly clean. There was a generous supply of tea, coffee and biscuits in the bedroom. I have marked the rooms down only because of the general state of the decor. Scatter cushions and throws don't make up for torn wallpaper and dated, damaged furniture and fittings. The ensuite bathroom was functional, but again very dated. Although the shower worked and the water was hot, the water pressure was poor.

On the plus side, breakfast was very enjoyable. A range of options were available and the quality of the cooked breakfast was good (the sausages were particularly nice!); very good value for the price. The view across the bay from the breakfast room is stunning and gives you a great start to the day.

The Glengower is almost half the price of some of the budget chains. The price, location, views and friendly staff more or less balance out the "1980's boarding house" decor and I would stay there again. But some time and money invested in refurbishing the rooms would reap huge benefits for them.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the larger rooms with a seaview

I stayed there recently for two nights, rooms were comfortable, food was good but general decor is a little tired. The staff were friendly and helpfull. The shower was awful - various degrees of hot & cold and very little pressure.
