Description: Situated in the ancient heart of the city, the Cardinal's Hat is Worcester's oldest inn and thus has plenty of experience when it comes to pleasing hungry and thirsty visitors over the years. Long-considered a local landmark, this historic watering hole is now a labour of love of local food, drink, live music and traditional pub culture where fine wines, well-kept craft & cask ales and Continental beers are served with pride and satisfaction. With its imposing red brick facade and stunning location in Friar Street, the Cardinal's hat is a handsome example of an English city pub. Three storey's high and oozing with charm this independent free house - which originally hails back to the fourteenth century - is the perfect place to meet family, friends and colleagues. With over 30 years in the pub trade Nigel, Sadie and the team will make sure you feel welcome. In December 2015 the Cardinal's Hat opened the doors to its newly refurbished Georgian City Rooms, the four boutique rooms have been luxuriously finished and offer a stunning place to stay in the city center. Whether passing by for a coffee, settling in for a leisurely platter of the region's finest fare, or stopping to sup a cool draught Wye Valley HPA, the Cardinal's Hat has something for everyone. “Excellent Pub”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

Been using this place for many many years and can truly say that with the new owners its now better than ever. When ever I am down town for a few dricks with friends we always try to finish the night in here as the staff are always welcoming and the range of drinks suits all.

“Fabulous food!”
Reviewed September 6, 2013 via mobile

We found this little place in between journeys around the country. The food is amazing! Really different to your average pub grub, fresh, local produce that tastes fantastic! It's a funny little place though, full of character and helpful staff, but quite quiet and small, would benefit from some more customers I think! We were lucky to find it - hopefully more people will stumble across it soon!

“Local cider and good friends”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

We decided to call in for a drink on our walk back to our hotel. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. They recommended local ciders for us to try (some of which we hadn't ever heard of). The pub is a Grade II listed building and you can feel the history as you enter, the candles on the tables add to the atmosphere. Whether you pop in for one drink or for the evening, a good night is guaranteed.

“A little jem”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

This is one of those pubs you stumble across every now and again.its not your usual high street pub.tucked away in frier st this quaint little pub with its little wood panelled rooms and court yard outside area is a great place to relax.they have a great selection of real ales and continental beers.the bar food is far from your usual fare, more emphasis on snacky sharing platters, a selection of 14 cheeses, continental meats, home made scotch eggs, pork pie and pickles amongst many others.
The staff are very polite and the place is kept well.
