Went here for lunch a few weeks ago as opposite my new office. Very glad I did. Staff were lovely, really friendly and helpful. I had the leek and potato soup and it’s the best I have ever had in a café, with huge hunks of fresh bread. Others in the group had sandwiches which were great apparently, especially impressed with the salad that came with it. Good selection of specials on. The café itself is in a really nice setting. Would thoroughly recommend.

Thank you for writing us such a great review! Just so you know, if your office is opposite, the team there are happy to take phone orders for either take-away or to eat in and reserve you a table! Next time you are in grab a menu to take with you. Steve is also just starting to get his Christmas pack together and may well call into the local offices, so if you fancy Christmas lunch....? Watch out for Steve's portions though!! They are traditionally huge!

best regards,
Rebecca

We were spending a wet morning in the Art Gallery and Museum and were delighted to find this well-run, clean and attractive café on the first floor balcony. We enjoyed coffee and home-made biscuits initially when we had a chance to look at the menu, and after a couple of hours spent in the museum we were more than happy to return and have lunch. Delicious home-made soup and crusty bread, followed by tasty cake and coffee. Attentive staff and a relaxed atmosphere make this a very enjoyable venue.

When ever my son and I are in town and looking for somewhere to go to lunch, he will invariably choose the LPG at the library, even over the larger branch in town (he has good taste, my son!!).

We have been coming here since it opened and almost always have the soups. They are always so tasty and if you not sure if you will like it the staff will happily give you a small taster.

There homemade orange and lemon and ginger and lemonade is the best!!!

Would recommend this place to all, so glad it didn't shut down when all the books left.

Local produce is only served here, no cash and carry for these perfectionists. I had a humble bacon sandwich, thick tasty bacon with choice of breads, I chose white. Beautiful tasting side salad. Food is fresh and tastes it too. Recommended. (ps: tea could be stronger!). Price reflects local produce preference.
