We live in Worcester so it is easy to overlook visiting this iconic building. Don't though!

Our son had been on a school visit and excitedly took us around telling us all about the building from what he had remembered.

A beautiful space with a fantastic history. One criticism though would be that some of the information boards do need updating because they are looking a little aged.

The crypt was a particular favourite for us.

I had no idea that King John is buried here, also Prince Arthur - Henry VIII's older brother. These are 2 of the wonderful monuments to be seen amongst many beautiful memorials. The cathedral is truly awe-inspiring and a holy place of wonderful music. The refectory serves great coffee and cakes! Don't miss visiting this oasis when in Worcester.

If you visit Worcester. A must see!
The history of the effigies is interesting. The crypt was informative. The shop also had affordable nice gifts to purchase.

I attended Evensong at the Cathedral and was bowled over by the acoustics. It's no wonder, then, that Elgar found such inspiration from the Cathedral! Returning the next day, I visited the Crypt and walked around. The exhibits and writeups were most informative and educational. Definitely worth a visit.
