Really enjoyed our stay at The Lenchford. The service was great, breakfast good and the location was excellent. The rooms were a bit dated but clean and would definitely go back.

My partner and I stayed at the Lenchford overnight on 12th October 2011 following a business meeting in the town. We checked in at around 5pm, had a much needed drink and was shown to our room by Sarah, who also worked behind the bar. We had the 4 poster bed suite which had windows on 3 sides of the building so had a good view of the surrounding countryside and view of the river. The balcony was a bonus as my partner is a smoker and also gave a good view of the river. We went down to the bar at tea time and there were a few locals in and it was a good atmosphere. We had a meal which was very nice and not over priced. Even though it was mid October we sat outside til 10.30pm on the decking with our drinks and piped music playing in the background.

All in all, good location, good atmosphere, friendly helpful staff .... we will definately stay there again, or even visit for a drink and a meal as it is not too far from home. The only critisism we have is that the bed clothing could do with updating, and the heating turning down in the room.

I am surprised that it only had a 2 star rating on hotels.com who we booked through. I think this needs to be reassessed

Room Tip: The 4 poster bed on 1st floor gives a good all round view of the area

Spent three nights with family, arriving by boat. The location is very beautiful - the upper reaches of the navigable Severn are wonderful and very quiet. Much recommended to fellow boaters. The moorings at the Lenchford Inn are very good indeed, and space is plentiful.

The hotel is nicely presented and clean throughout, but what really made our stay was the attentiveness of the staff. On the first night we were being joined by our son, who did not arrive until 10.15 pm. Although the kitchen had closed by then, the staff asked if we would like the chef to make him some nice sandwiches before going home - a very thoughtful offer. The next day they made us some jugs of Pimm's for our boat outing, even though this entailed a special trip to the shops for them. We had extra guests for breakfast the following day, and again this was catered for in the most helpful way.

On our final day we went for a lovely walk in the area, and again we were impressed with the scenery. We had a lovely few days, and I strongly suspect we will be back. This has to be one of our favourite hotels on the entire river and canal system of the UK.

we arrived at the lenchford during a very busy saturday afternoon where dragon boat racing was going on. We checked in and were put in a wonderful room overlooking the river with a 4 poster bed. The hotel was busy but not to the extent of ruining our weekend.
The room was lovely. Little extra's like trouser press and hair dryer were much appreciated.
The young lady who showed us our room explained about the back entrance for late night return and informed us about times of breakfast.
This consisted of as much fruit juice and coffee as you wanted, a choice of cereal and a full english with toast.
I have read some of the reviews and all i can say is those people must have stayed at a different hotel!! we thoroughly enjoyed our 2nd stay and will happily stay at the lenchford again.

Room Tip: upgrade to room number 4. beautiful views!!

We loved everything about the Lenchford, the owners and staff we friendly and efficient, we loved the setting on the river. The meals were fantastic. Our room was roomy, the bed comfortable.
What more could you ask for, we would definately visit again.

On a recent business trip my colleague and I found this venue to be desperately tired. The decor, facilities (particularly the bathrooms and water system VERY hot or just cold!) and worst of all the staff who were rude and aggressive. Felt very sad about the whole thing.
