Booked in at a weeks notice as a solo traveller for four nights mon - fri. I got the single room - comfy, quiet and rather small but then there was only me. There's a small bar serving local bottled beers. The evening meal was good restaurant quality, well presented and tasty. Breakfast was fine. All in all a relaxing four days with Guy and Annie as friendly hosts. Would certainly come again.

What a beautiful sight as we came down the drive. The wisteria which had partly drawn me to the hotel was out and set the hotel off in the early evening sun. As we parked Steve came out to welcome us and offered to help with luggage. Were shown to our lovely comfortable and clean room [hollybush] with plenty of cupboard space and like home from home.We stayed 4 nights on a voucher scheme but were treated same as full paying guests for meals and room. Andrew the chef produced some lovely meals and all were freshly cooked. Plenty of things to do and see around the area and on our last day found local folk festival near by with lots of morris dancers and a wonderful atmosphere. We then had a boat trip down the Severn to finish off the day.We also met 2 lovely couples who we had great fun with and exchanged details to hopefully meet up with at the hotel again in the future. Steve and Julie were lovely hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. We had a wonderful time and hope to return again in the near future.Nearly forgot, rabbits and squirrels abound if you are a nature lover!!

Room Tip: As there are only 8 rooms they all appear to be quiet but best views would be looking over garden.

approach is via a narrow short one track drive winding its way through hedge lined lawns past the little hotel into the car park which is within a few strides from the front door. Passing through a brightly lit sitting room into the hallway where we were met by the proprietor. Very friendly, quickly booked in and shown upstairs to our room. He very kindly offered to carry my wifes luggage.
Through the bedroom door into a narrow passage passing the well appointed bathroom with one step up to the twin bedded room with TV, coffee & tea making facilities, two high backed chairs and a dressing table & double wardrobe. Windows on two walls both with lovely views of the countryside and Malvern hills. The beds were very comfortable and with nice clean sheets and duvets.
There is a separate small bar with adequate stock of most beers & spirits with seats. There is also an adjoining lounge well appointed and comfortable. The dining room was large airy and looked out over the lawns. We had a full english breakfast which was well cooked, quality food, hot and well presented with as much tea, coffee and toast as you needed.
A lovely little 8 bed hotel with all you could need just 3 miles from Malvern, 3 miles from Ledbury 4 miles from Upton on Seven and just 10 minutes away from the three Counties Showground.
My ony gripe would be that the bathroom was small and cramped especially the toilet.
BUT the good bits far outway this small point and would definitely go back again.

Room Tip: The twin room had lovely views and was nicely decorated.

We recently stayed here, the weekend before Christmas, and from the moment we arrived Julie and Steve made us feel so very welcome. We were a large family group and as we were the only ones staying, it made the whole experience that extra special for us all.
The children loved the hosts, and it was so lovely for them to be able to go to bed knowing we were all downstairs and the only residents there. The food was absolutely dilicious, homecooked and very hearty! It all felt like we were staying with family and being looked after extremely well.
I have rated this establishment excellent, and this is based purely on my own experience, the hosts attentive service and the food. I have read previous reviews and its a shame people have marked this hotel down just because of carpet??? Its all about how you were treated and the experience you had there. I coud not fault any of the service and hospitality that we had, and therefore Julie and Steve deserve a well earned 5 stars!!!! We hope to come back again next year if they will have us!!

We were visiting our daughter we discovered ths little hotel through Booking.com good room rate available. As always we checked TripAdvisor for reviews!

On arriving we saw the hotel down a well lit wooded driveway; easy parking at front of hotel. Well signed reception and bell! Pressing bell we met Steve the owner who made us feel very welcome. Inside the hotel was warm and friendly, decorated ready or Christmas. We were shown to our room Ragged Stone a delightfully decorated room with a comfortable bed: two bedroom chairs, dressing table, wardrobe with lots of hangers and spare pillows and blankets. Plentiful refreshments tray including biscuits and plenty of milk. Ensuite bathroom had deep bath which filled quickly and was hot: shower was over bath and adequate. Lovely complimentary toiletries and plenty of freshly laundered White towels!
Small flatscreen tv and lovely views from the bedroom window ( only saw it this morning)

Fully carpeted bedroom which was beautifully clean with a spotless vinyl floor in bathroom.

We opted to eat in the hotel - Herefordshire beef & rack of lamb with accompaniments was a delight: taken with a recommended bottle of wine! Cheese board and a raspberry brûlée to finish. All served in a tastefully decorated dining room, window overlooking a lovely garden area.

Slept really well bed and bedding just right! Room temperature perfect! Hotel very quiet and no noises heard. Really peaceful sleep!

Breakfast was self serve cereals, fruit and juices and a cooked breakfast menu to select from. Large teapot brought to table so we didn't need to ask for top ups! Cooked breakfast would be the only thing we could suggest needs a tweak... Quality bacon and sausage, would have liked tomatoes cooked for longer ( they were large and maybe needed a bit longer to cook through) would improve preparation of mushrooms (prefer them cooked in butter and to keep their colour) and scrambled eggs ( tasted great but didn't retain yellow colour)
Total cost for 2 people for dinner & desert including aperitifs and wine £81.55 plus room cost as charged.

Excellent hosts; service impeccable; friendly bar service; excellent dinner and wine. We will revisit!

We have just come home from my second visit to this absolute gem and I cannot wait to return!! We took over the hotel for my Dad's 70th birthday party and have had absolutely the best time. The owners are lovely -incredibly helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious, bright and very pretty and full of character reflecting the period of the house. The garden is amazing and we had lovely weather and enjoyed tea in the garden which was a real treat. The food is fabulous and another main reason to return. I just cannot recommend it enough. Ignore the 2 AA stars and get booked in! As I said when I left to Steve and Julie " I honestly could move in". It is very much home from home. All of our party said they would be returning which speaks for itself.
