“Welcoming host”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

I only stayed one night on a business trip, yet Ruth could not do enough for me. An open fire in the sitting room was the perfect relaxing setting for a cup of tea and slice of cake on arrival. The room was excellent, the bathroom both spacious and pristine throughout. The shower was hot in both late afternoon and early morning.

The breakfast is outstanding, not in terms of portion size (which were ample) but in taste. This B&B is a credit to the trade.

Also the smoke alarms work, which is good to know.

One of the nicest and friendliest places we've stayed in. Ruth is a wonderful friendly host who makes you feel so at home. The room was beautiful and the breakfast delicious. We will definitely be back but next time for a longer stay. Thanks Ruth!

Had a lovely time, Ruth the host quite simply with the most. Ruth is one of life's gems to be enjoyed. Went above and beyond time after time including lifts to the station. Lovely house and the views are awesome. Easy access to walk to the hills and the views are stunning at the top, only takes half an hour. Bit of a walk from town but if you play your cards right Ruth and her husband are at hand. Top breakfast too. Basically stay here it's great, you won't be disappointed. Thanks Ruth

This was our first visit to Malvern and we hunted around to find a good B&B - Our research pointed us in the direction of The Old Croque - a quick chat with Ruth convinced us.

We arrived at The Old Croque on Saturday afternoon and were given a really warm welcome - We stayed in the Yellow Room, the bedroom being as per the photographs - and exactly what it said on the can! The view from the lounge is superb and we had a lovely log fire.

We had a great night out in Malvern and have decided that it is a great place! Ruth's breakfast on Sunday morning was something else! She simply excelled herself.

So, to summarise The Old Croque:- great convienient location - about 2 miles from the centre of Malvern. Lovely clean, tidy and well decorated house with fantastic view. Ruth is great and her breakfast AWESOME!!!! We can't wait to go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our second visit together to stay with Ruth. The wonderful welcome to her lovely home after a long drive is like coming back to stay with an old friend: and she has become this, a friend not old, no one could be more youthful and enthusiastic! She is the same welcoming person to all her varied guests and goes the extra mile to please. She is mine of useful information as to what to see locally. Her handsome, beautifully decorated home has cosy, well-furnished bedrooms and a superb drawing room with log fire and views to die for. And then there is the breakfast !! You won't go hungry after sampling Ruth's delicious fare. No wonder so many guests are repeat bookings.

Room Tip: Rooms are excellent, but you'll want to spend a lot of time in the lounge, just wait until you s...

Excellent location. The house provides stunning views and Ruth makes you feel at home. We couldn't have asked for a better hostess. Ruth even dropped us into Malvern town, and cooked up one of the best breakfasts we have had in a B&B/hotel!

Many thanks Ruth, we will definitely look to return in the future.
