This is a nice looking place with really, really good staff. Unfortunately, rooms are very basic, under equipped and for a newly referred place quite tired.

Bar nice, restaurant good but again, overpriced for the quality.

The staff hold this hotel above its quality, I had the suite for quite a while and was nice, but nice isn't good enough!

No spa, no gym, no minibar in room, no iPod docs, bad lights, no air con, no room service.....not a 4star! Again, the staff I can not praise enough. Kate in the restaurant was the best if a really good bunch.

I am sorry you found some aspects of this new hotel fell short of your expectation.
We have worked very hard to create a fine hotel, and clearly we have not got everything right. Of little consolation now you have left, I realise, but many of the shortcomings are on my and the owner's radar; those smaller items will be rectified over the coming weeks, larger items such as a spa, are very much part of the development plans, over the next 2/3 years.
I am very proud of the team I have working here, thank you for your kind comments in this respect.
I hope we can expect to see you at The Wood Norton again in the near future.
Oliver Cooke.

We booked in for Sunday lunch and B&B as a base for a short tour of the Cotswolds, we paid the premium for a room in the main house,( we did'nt see the Mews rooms so cant comment on them ) room 202 was spacious and tasteful with a huge bed, the best thing about it was everything is and smells brand new, the linen, the towels, curtains, carpets..paint....( I am OCD )
The main hall is impressive as you would expect with all it's history and Listed status with several smaller intimate lounges to relax and have a drink in, as well as the snooker and games room where I spanked my partner ( on the green baize, I must add )
The staff were attentive and made the effort to talk which is nice, the food was just delicious and we had a great stay ! Well worth a visit !

We stayed at this hotel for my husbands birthday. We were in the Pear Tree mews apartments and they were very nice. Lovely thick large towels in the bathroom and a very comfortable bed.
We had dinner in the "Old kitchen" on the first night of our stay and it was very nice, the service and the food were excellent.
We had a disapointing experience at breakfast on Sunday morning as we had to wait 1 hour and 10 mins for our breakfast!!! but as this hotel has just recently opened I expect this is just teething problems although people arriving in the breakfast room after us were served and out of the room while we were still waiting, but that said we would certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: The rooms in Pear Tree Mews are very nice and quiet, just a bit away from the main house.

We stayed last weekend for our wedding anniversary and had a fantastic time. We stayed in the Pear Tree Mews accommodation which is very comfortable with a huge bed. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the food was absolutely fantastic.
They were entertaining their first wedding party since opening after refurbishment and the enthusiasm for this event overflowed into the general atmosphere in the hotel.
Fantastic value for money break, would recommend to anyone.

Myself and a friend were invited to a 50th Birthday party in Evesham and we booked ourselves into the recently refurbished The Word Norton Hotel. We thought it would be a good idea to book as ex Evesham locals we knew of the premises as a BBC training centre and were interested to see the changes. We had booked a twin room and were allocated a room in the Peartree room away from the main hotel. It was absolutely superb. The room was so comfortable and clean and the bathroom and shower were lovely. Towelling robes and slippers were also provided. The reception staff were really friendly and helpful and the staff at breakfast were well trained, polite and attentive. The interior design of the main hotel has been very well redecorated with furnishings that complement the style of the building and its history.
After a fantastic breakfast the following morning we had a walk around the grounds and met the new owners who informed us of the plans for the hotel as work is still to be completed in the landscape gardening. They invited us to take a look at the suites and bride room suite and other rooms which were amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel to all who are planning a stay in the Cotswold area, you will not be disappointed and finally a mention for Stacey on reception who took the booking and showed us around. We wish you a long and happy career you will go far. We thank you all for your hospitality.

We booked this hotel just to get away for an evening after getting married.
The hotel looked impressive on arrival marred only by the undergoing landscaping, but as the weather wasn't too pleasant this wasn't a problem as we wouldn't be going outside.

We stayed in the main hall where we found the room clean, crisp, extremely comfortable, and of ample size. By comparison to the communal lounge areas / bar / restaurant, the room we stayed in seemed to be missing a spot of character, but it ticked all the other boxes bar the TV which struggled for reception.

We experienced good service from all the staff we encountered who were more than happy to accommodate for all of our needs. We were given complimentary champagne and pre dinner snacks whilst in the bar which we felt was a really nice touch.

We dined in for the evening and were found the food wonderful and priced about right for the quality. Waiting staff service provided a very good silver service. We were unfortunate though to experience a power cut during the meal. We were offered alternative accommodation should we have required it (thankfully the power was not off for too long).
Breakfast also was well portioned with ample choice from both buffet and cooked menu.

In summary I believe that this hotel once all the minor issues have been solved, will be a 5 star place and would not be surprised if the prices of the room went up.

This is by far the best hotel I have stayed in. A beautiful country manor with so much charm and character with staff to suit.

The main building has beautiful lounges and dining areas. Fully wood panelled rooms create a cosy atmosphere in which to sit. A contemporary bar is also a great feature.

Food was exquisite and reasonably priced. The breakfast consisted of a cooked to order English breakfast that was perfect in quantity and quality. Dinner as well was very tasty and included a free amuse bouche.

The room was on the second floor of the main house overlooking the entrance courtyard and was very large with a fully tiled en suite with bath was great. Although very large and we were thoroughly pleased to be upgraded to this room I though it could have had a bit more character (This in no way takes away for the fact this was a great room)

All the staff we encountered, from the welcoming staff at reception, to the bar and restaurant staff were extremely personable, well mannered and really nice. I also truly felt important with the staff seeming to recognise and remember us which made us feel valued.

A truly great stay. Many thanks

Room Tip: Second floor of the main building. Rooms were very large with great bathrooms however for more chara...
