The food is expensive but the taste was exquisite. Restaurant modern. Staff friendly. We would definitely go back.

Russells is just that step above a gastro pub, it serves really tasty hearty british fare with a refined twist. It is not pretentious or overwhelming. The tables are laid out in cafe style with no table cloths just slate mats. For starters the majority of our group had the scallops with parsnip puree, they were cooked perfectly and melted in the mouth. The parsnip puree was sweet and smooth, I would have liked a smidge more to accompany the scallops. There was also a parsnip fondant, which was light and tasty and there were a few small parsnip crisps scattered on the dish, overall very good. One of our group had the salmon starter which arrived on a slate plate , with wasabi and an other sauce and was proclaimed to be light and tasty.
For mains the two chaps had the pheasant which included a breast and a leg confit, both blokes were very very pleased with this dish.Us girlys both had the lamb, which came very very pink, fine for me but a little too pink for my friend who had asked for it medium.I ended up giving her my sections at either end , which were a little better done, and i ate the really pink stuff. So be aware if you want the lamb, that it comes very very pink.It was super tasty organic lamb and very filling with the Girolles mushrooms and spinach. For me the girolles mushrooms were a little overpowering for such a tasty piece of lamb, but overall it was good. The prices have certainly gone up over the last four years, so i would put this in the expensive but not extortionate bracket.

My partner made a last minute but by no means ordinary discovery - Russell's of Broadway is indeed extraordinary! Both of us were really looking forward to an excellent meal. We decided to treat ourselves to the a la carte menu. His starter had the most delicous sweet scallops, followed by the best herb lamb and fondant potato and the most sultry chocolate fondant with coconut icecream - whilst I ventured for the goats cheese (so creamy and delicately flavoured) with at least three varieties of beetroot - what a perfect combination! the thought of saffron broth with monkfish and squid intrigued me to the extent I let my anxiety of mussels be overlooked - and was that the right decision or what? My relationship with the humble mussel has changed - this delightful and delicate marriage of seafood and saffron was one to celebrate. The dessert I went for was the raspberry mouse and white chocolate - absolutely delicious - the star in this dish was the raspberry, in particular the accompanying sorbet - so refreshing and perfectly balanced. Every course was perfect - a rare experience indeed! Well done to the new chef - he deserves a michelin star!
We'll be back - hopefully in the near future....what a delightful place to eat and what a wonderful backdrop of picturesque Broadway. Mmmm,,,can't wait!

We stayed here recently for two nights, and had dinner in the restaurant on both evenings. There are only seven rooms so it is small and friendly. We stayed in room 7 which was lovely. Large bed, loads of space and a huge bathroom with double sinks, spa bath and walk thru shower. The food was very good and the staff friendly and attentive. One small gripe - the heating in the room was very noisy.
Would highly recommend this lovely place for a peaceful stay.

Good surroundings, pleasant staff and a really good lamb main course. The house wine was very acceptable. Although pricey it was a lovely polished experience. Make sure you order any sides with your main course. Ours came almost at the end, the next table to us didn't get theirs.
Still well worth a visit. Book early.
