“Cotswold Charm”

We recently spent a long weekend at this historic hotel plus the added bonus of fine weather! The rooms and service were faultless, the meals were exceptional, being served in a magnificent Baronial style room with vast vaulted ceiling. The adjoining leisure/health complex was a nice distraction, although the pool water temperature did seem erratic. The village is very olde worlde, but chic with the Green, pubs, retaurants, galleries and superb `chippy. A good location for visiting Hidcote,Studely Castle and the famous "Pudding Club"! We will definitely return ..........

Room Tip: as usual,an upgrade is worthwhile

3rd time we've stayed here and sure we'll be back again! Location is second to none - you can walk everywhere that Broadway has to offer. Our room was missing robes but as soon as I asked they were delivered. We were also missing a bathroom kit (namely a shower cap) but was rather too late to call and ask for one when in the shower. Our room was clean and very large. The bathroom could do with a spruce up but towels were great. First visit to the Spa which was good. Swimming pool has about 6 loungers to lie and snooze/read on and it's lovely and warm in there! Guy on reception was esp helpful. My only negative was that breakfast was worse than awful. Before it was bought by Puma we'd always enjoyed breakfast so maybe they are cutting costs. The staff also need to be trained the in the art of not looked stressed out their mind and crashing thru the kitchen doors shouting. Food dire and a get you in/get you out atmosphere. The location of breakfast is simply stunning though so such a pity they don't make more of an event of it - like the B&B 2 mins away! I'd recommend booking without brekkie and going to one of the 3 lovely coffee places moments away - sitting in the sun and watch the world go by.

Having visited the village many times and having loved the exterior of the Lygon Arms, we booked one night's stay for our wedding anniversary. The room was over £200; a nice four-poster bed, but some strange furniture. We dropped our luggage and went straight out to explore the village again. When we got back to the room, we discovered a very obvious stain in the bath (blood?), presumably from a previous occupant. We reported this and it was dealt with. We were offered a room change, but by now it was 10pm and we didn't want to start the process all over again in the new room. When we retired for the night, we used the shower and discovered the bath robes promised in the contract weren't in the room. After a decent breakfast the next morning, we checked out and pointed out their failings. We were offered compensation- a complimentary tea or coffee!!! What a joke this place is. Don't be fooled by its charming exterior. NOT recommended.

This place is great! The hotel is very quaint with a significant English Charm too it. The rooms were very nice size with a modern bathroom. This is a great business hotel as it has all the amenities of a Marriott/hilton, etc. with a lot more charm.

The staff was very helpful.

The village is unique and full of charm. This would be a great stop for a 1 day vacation in northern England. It makes a great business hotel too.

Just a lovely hotel in a very picturesque location, enjoyed every minute of my business trip here including a very welcome G&T in the sunshine in the courtyard. The staff are friendly and I had a room/suite that I could quite easily live in forever. The car park is slightly tricky to find but they valet-parked my car for me, which was a nice touch. Great breakfast, too.

Stayed here for one night in April for my birthday. Had a lovely time, staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble!
Got a deal off last minute which included two treatments, dinner & breakfast for an excellent price considering how lovely the hotel is! Treatments were fab and the girls were very friendly and professional.
Dinner was quite expensive if you were paying, however as we got this in the deal it was more than reasonable! Good choice on the menu and the staff were very friendly, a lot better than expected, breakfast the next day was great too! Lots of choice and staff were very attentive.
Would definitely recommend stopping here for a weekend break! Village is nice to walk around too, lots of nice shops to walk around. Would recommend having some spa treatments as they are fab!

This hotel has been on our 'Must stay' list for a long time, and when we eventually stayed for a short break we were not disappointed.
Check-in was efficient, and having someone on hand to carry your luggage to your room is something many hotels don't offer these days. Plus, you could pull up at the front door and someone would park your car for you.
Our room had old world charm, with paneled walls, and was big enough to take two easy chairs. The only fault with the room (92) is that it was dark, which was a problem for my wife and her make up. The bathroom was a little on the small side, but this was not a problem. The shower was, however! I can never fathom out how to work the controls on showers in hotels, and this one was no exception.
Breakfast was good, with a full choice of hot food, continental style breakfast etc. The toast was however cold.
Despite a few minor gripes, this is still an excellent hotel.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.
