“Nicely situated hotel.”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

Stayed here with my husband on the Summer Sparkle deal(£75 each incl. prosecco, 3 course dinner and breakfast.) We received a warm welcome and were shown to our room(6) and offered help with our bags. The room was nicely furnished and comfortable, a little small, but adequate for a one night stay. The downside was that directly outside the windows was the glass pitched roof of the restaurant. No view at all, which was a shame. The restaurant roof windows were open so all sounds from the restaurant were sent straight up to our room. On our arrival, a new floor was being fitted in the restaurant so there was a lot of noise. It was a warm night and as there is no air-con, we had to have the windows open. There was an electric fan, luckily, which we made full use of. The other negative of this room is that the bathroom is so small, it could not accommodate the basin , which was in the bedroom! Not ideal. The whole hotel is very tastefully decorated in a contemporary but traditional style, with art work on an equestrian theme and very clean. Broadway itself is pretty with a few shops, bars and cafes. We enjoyed a drink on the terrace in the afternoon and in particular, the view across the green. The hotel is really nicely situated. We enjoyed a complimentary glass of prosecco in the bar before dinner(which we had to ask for as it was part of our deal, would have been nice to have been offered it.)The bar is overlooked by a minstrel's gallery and the bar staff were very polite and friendly. Our meal in the restaurant was fantastic, we enjoyed the scallop starter(fantastic) and the crab spring roll, followed by fillet steak. We felt that at £25 for fillet steak, the sauce should be included and not £2 extra! All restaurant staff were very pleasant , efficient and attentive but didn't pester as some restaurant staff do these days. On the whole an enjoyable stay with good food and service but you might want to be more specific about your room choice as they seem to vary a lot.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms that have windows that have a view of the restaurant roof( at least 5&6)

We recently stayed one night at this lovely hotel to break our journey to Cornwall, it turned out to be a very good choice.
We parked in the hotels car park which we accessed from the front of the hotel. There is a barrier to prevent non residents parking.
Room number 19 is one of the dog friendly rooms and although it was very small ( not much floor space for our cases) it was ideal for us, with our own patio area overlooking the garden and the residents terrace. It has a beautiful sunny aspect and it would have been very tempting just to relax there but we wanted to explore the quaint town of Broadway!!
The room was very tastefully decorated, and the teddy bear on the comfortable memory foam bead was a lovely touch!!!! I was glad that I brought my own hair dryer as the one provided was the low voltage type that you usually find wall mounted in washrooms etc, and wouldn't have been much use for us ladies who want to style our hair!!!
The bathroom was very pleasant, clean and well appointed with a selection of Molton Brown toiletries for us to use. If I had been staying there longer I might have made use of the bath and the plastic duck waiting for us!!!!
That evening we ate in the County Bar with the dogs. This hotel is very dog friendly, one of the locals came in with his dog who immediately kept up onto a bar stool!!! The food we had was lovely, I was a bit disappointed not to see more healthy options ( for some strange reasons just felt like a salad that night!!) and I did feel a bit stuck for choice, but I thoroughly enjoyed what I did have, chicken breast in flatbread with home made onion rings and fries. The drinks were very reasonably priced also which makes a change for a hotel
We checked out the next day regretting that we were only staying one night, and we were served our breakfasting the sitting room ( as we had the dogs). It funny how you always have a cooked breakfast when you are away but you wouldn't usually bother at home, well this cooked breakfast was UNBELIEVABLE. Just about the best I have ever had!!! The waitress was lovely and friendly, as we're all the hotel staff . I still managed to squeeze in something from the cold buffet in the main restaurant ( well you have to don't you???)
The reception staff are all lovely and helpful. My main contact thoughout the booking and the stay was with Debbie. She is a credit to the hotel. It was the first time we have taken dogs to a hotel and we had decided that if it went well then we would do it again. We obviously chose a good hotel to start with.
Hotel staff that welcome your dogs and actually LIKE dogs make a massive difference to your stay. I appreciate that not everyone likes dogs and believe that there are plenty of hotels to cater for them.
I loved everything about Broadway, the shops, the scenery, the atmosphere, and last but not least, this lovely hotel. I am sure we will return again one day!!

Thank you for taking your time to review the Broadway hotel, I am so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us as well as the dog, we welcome dogs with open arms here at the hotel as we very much believe the hotel is a home form home and as we have our very own resident dog here we welcome others to come in may it be at the bar or sat out the front.
We hope to see you again very soon.

My fiancé and I stayed here for one night with the Summer Sparkle deal, looking at reviews and pictures etc we knew it would be lovely, our expectations were exceeded. The staff were helpful and friendly, and despite the fact Broadfest was taking over the town, we didn't feel it was taking over the hotel too much all things considered. The room was clean and very comfortable. We ate in the dining room for dinner and breakfast, both of which were cooked perfectly, my fiancé was especially delighted at the beautifully cooked 16oz T-bone steak!!! Would definitely recommend to a friend.

Excellent hotel. Beautiful old Cotswold building with very pretty garden. The staff are particularly welcoming, friendly and helpful. In fact it is probably the staff that make this hotel special. The location is ideal for exploring the Cotswolds. The hotel is set back from the road and in an ideal place to wander around very pretty Broadway. The rooms are comfortable although not that big. The dining room is contemporary, with air conditioning which was perfect as it was so hot whilst we were there. The meals were first class. Breakfast great choice. Bar dining menu has wide choice if you don't want to eat in the dining room. The hotel has all the charm of the Cotswolds and would thoroughly recommend

We spent a long weekend in the Cotswolds for a mini-honeymoon and visited the indoor restaurant at The Broadway Hotel. The decor in indoor restaurant was lovely and very fitting for a special occasion. We were so impressed with the level of service and the fine-dining style food. We had the scallops and pigeon to start, both of which were stunning. Followed by the lamb and fillet steak. This was one of the best meals I've had in a long time and beat many a fine-dining restaurant I've visited in London but at a fraction of the cost.

We visited the hotel for a lunchtime drink and the food looked so inviting we returned the next day for a late lunch. The recently refurbished interior was very modern...the service was good and the food was beautifully presented. The food was delicious BUT why do these places the trouble to cook delicious food and then present it on cold plates..a small fault but an avoidable one.

This hotel was very good. The rooms were clean and all staff throughout the hotel were very friendly, including Spud the dog. Excellent bar staff and a good selection of menu for good quality food. Broadway is a lovely Cotswold village to visit with some nice shops.
