Liked the people and the food. A good pub to visit- real village atmosphere. The village itself is delightful and the pub is clearly very much at its core

Lively and friendly but not rowdy atmosphere. Good value for money. Off the beaten track. Child friendly premises with climbing frames for the younger patrons.

We stopped for a quick bite at this pub after visiting Snowshill Manor. It looked ok from the outside, though no pretty garden to eat outside - just some benches by a play area. Inside, the pub needs a serious facelift. Late 80s / early 90s decor with bizarre wooden benches and table with an orangey gloss finish. The space could be used so well, but it just feels very sad and dated. The ordering process was the most weird thing - you are given a menu, along with a pad and a pen, on which you have to write your order, adding up and totalling the prices at the bottom, before handing it over at the bar. We just wanted a light bite so ordered cheesy nachos and a 'Snowshill' Caesar salad. Came worryingly quickly... Nachos were basically bbq flavour torilla chips fused with a cheese-like rubber, drizzled with chilli sauce from a bottle and zapped in a microwave. Caesar salad consisted of limp shredded iceberg lettuce with a quartered tomato, a skewered piece of chicken with a little bowl of dressing, again clearly just slopped from a bottle. Such a beautiful location, and in an area renowned for really good quality local fresh ingredients, this was disappointing to say the least.

Mostly frozen food served, and lots of grease.
This place needs a serious coat of fresh paint, the tacky (and filthy carpets ripped out and the kitsch slot machine removed. The school child size wood benches need to be replaced with even a few quirky chairs and tables. Such a pretty village and pub exterior deserve much better. Seems to rely on transient clients only. What a shame!

Have visited this public house many times, the most recent being three weeks ago.
We sat outside in the garden which has fabulous views of the village and surrounding countryside.
The draught beer and food were excellent, the only downside was having your name called out HI DE HI style over a tannoy to go into the pub to collect your meals.
Have also been for a meal in the depths of winter where there will be a roaring fire.
Well worth a visit.
