Description: Set in the Lygon Arms Hotel in the small Cotswold village of Broadway, The Great Hall provides a striking setting for a meal that needs to impress. This oak-panelled restaurant is full of period charm, with an imposing barrel-vaulted ceiling, 17th-century minstrels' gallery and stately suits of armour. Two AA Rosettes adorn the restaurant's modern European menu, prepared with classical French flair, which features ingredients grown in the hotel's own gardens. Valet Parking available. “Christmas 2011”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

We stayed at the Lygon Arms for Christmas last year and we found the restaurants and service were absolutely excellent, with exceptions of supper on Christmas Day evening and Boxing Day lunch when it seemed we were being served 'good' left overs. However, Christmas Eve Dinner,
Christmas Day Lunch and Boxing Day Dinner were the best I have experienced in any five star hotel during this busy period.
The staff were caring and attentive and nothing was left to chance.
My only request would have been for a little more entertainment on Christmas Day and Boxing Day afternoon, and a better band for the Ball on Boxing Day evening.
Would definitely recommend to friends and go again ourselves.

“Cold ... and no atmoshere with no customers! Loosing reputation ...”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

We booked the Lygon Arms on the basis of reputation but it clearly is not presently deserved. The meal was a special evening for my wife's significant birthday and I was reluctant to complain on the night as this would have ruined the night even more. THE RESTAURANT IS CLEARLY UNPOPULAR. Even in holiday August* (a wednesday) there were only three other tables occupied so the atmosphere was spoiled and the staff overly attentive. The biggest problem was the cold room and the drafts in such an empty place and the food was mediocre to say the least and put presentation above taste.

Ps * the Swan nearby was absolutely full we noticed

“Very Impressive”
Reviewed May 8, 2012

Definitely an impressive room. Now owned by Puma Hotels, not Barcelo. Proper white table cloths, Maitre D, Sommellier, and great staff, most waitresses seemed to be from different parts of the world over here learning English, etc., all were very efficient, smartly dressed and friendly. Food was very good, limited `A La Carte` and quite a choice on `Table D`Hote` decent wine list, with wine by difft size glasses, half and full bottles. Food and wine not cheap but for a night out, worth the money. Breakfast for hotel served here as well and very nice too. Service at breakfast as good as at dinner. Would go back again.
