Sadly the property is only open twice in the year for commemorative dates but if it is open and you're able to visit, I'd definitely recommend it.

I try to find out when it's open for public - entry fee is quite reasonable tbh and it's open twice a year (May & August) and if you happen to be in Windsor then do go there - the house and land around it are exquisite and so is the Mausoleum (although it's still being repaired). Not to be missed

Unfortunately, Frogmore House is only open to the public 4 days a year (perfectly understandable since it is a royal residence) and we have never been there during those 4 days. The guard at the gate house was most courteous, however.

We were fortunate to be in Windsor on one of only two days that Frogmore was open this year.

It is only a short walk through the Great Park from the town centre, and the gardens are a haven of peace and tranquility (apart from the planes taking off from Heathrow every minute!). Outside the mausoleum are the graves of many of the Royal family, including the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. Sadly the mausoleum is permanently closed because of its dangerous condition inside, but Frogmore House can be visited. THis contains much of the original furniture from Victorian and Edwardian times, with lots of interesting photos.

If you are planning a visit, make sure that the House is open and book tickets in advance if you can.
