Well, my 6 (boy), and 4 (girl) year old were happy from the moment we pulled up outside the smoke breathing dragon!!
Check in - Easy, kids could play in the Lego pit whilst adults were doing the grown up bit - 24 hour shop here too (Mainly Lego with a few toiletry items) - No where to get a paper within the hotel except a couple of complimentary copies in the bar.
Lifts - They talk ! My 4 year old didn't like them, so we used the stairs the rest of the holiday, but the boys had a great time!! Only 2 though and quite small, so peak time may be a problem. But once checked in its only 4 floors, and majority of what you want is on level 2
Room - We stayed in a standard kingdom room. It had enough decoration to make it different from a standard hotel room, but the layout was exactly the same. Tea coffee, and hot chocolate all supplied and replenished which was a nice addition. Kids loved the treasure hunt, and the prize at the end ( I wont spoil it !) The kids have their own tv, and can access the films (additional charge) - so just be careful they don't get carried away.
We had a look at the pirate and adventure floors and all were decked out appropriately, we wouldn't have been disappointed with any of the themes (kingdom is on level 2 - same level as the restaurant and play area but wasn't noisy, pirate is level 3, and adventure is level 4)
Play area - Really all it is is a big tree, and castle with stairs Lego pits, and tv, but my kids loved it (older kids might get bored). This is also the stage at night for the disco. The bar is opposite with lots of seating, but could imagine finding a seat peak season may be difficult.
The restaurant - Next to the play area, food was good and plenty of selection, although the 2 nights were exactly the same options (might be because of being off peak - but enough selection for something different). Kids own selection as well which had healthy options. Again decoration is excellent, and the adults stayed on in the restaurant whilst the entertainment started and kids went to watch - felt very secure
Breakfast was great, and kept us going until the evening.
Level 2 is also the entrance level to the park
Everywhere was really well decorated even the toilets - look out for the sinks, and the whoopee cushion !!
Pool - Yes it was small but perfect for the children. Has a small swimming pool (only 1.2 m no shallow/deep end) and directly opposite the pirate play area with 2 x slides, see saw, water fountains/jets etc. Again imagine this could be busy peak time, but then there is a restricted use of an hour I believe. Towels are provided (free of charge) lockers are refundable £1. Not many lockers/showers , so get ready before you go down would be my advice

Overall we had a fantastic time, 2 nights were plenty, and if we had stayed any longer think we would have ventured out to Windsor (free parking opposite the hotel) but there is a bus service, but if you were there during the peak time there would be plenty to do - have a lovely holiday :)

We stayed in the hotel over the February half term and had a great time. We stayed in a kingdom room on level 2, which was great as it was the same level as the restaurant, bar and park entrance. The room was beautifully themed and very clean. My children (aged 5 and 6) loved doing the quiz to open the treasure chest and then built their models straight away.
The pool was great fun. They especially liked the slides and by going just before tea one day and early the following morning it was quiet both times. The restaurant had a wide choice of food and good quality and due to annual pass discount cost us just over 40 pounds for 2 adults and 2 children. It was very good value for money especially with unlimited soft drinks. The entertainment in the bar area was an unexpected bonus. My 2 loved the chance to meet pink brick and Ollie the dragon!
Would thoroughly recommend and will be returning!

Great break with the kids, even though the park is closed at the moment, still a lot to do. Swimming although it was quite busy in the afternoon, the pool was freezing. Later back to the room to open your treasure chests, great fun. The kids have bunks away from the parents bed which is great. And all the rooms are themed.
Dinner is a buffet for £18 an adult and £9 for kids or you can eat near the bar much cheaper. Burgers etc. then after we had evening entertainment which was superb. And then off to bed. Kids got their own teles.
Breakfast in the morning was great and buffet style.
Altogether great fun but a little expensive.

We have just returned from 1 night at the hotel for half term and got an exceptional deal for the five of us (2 adults and 3 kids - 10, 8 and 6) on a bed and breakfast basis. The rates are cheaper during the closed season but to be honest we were glad as we made the most of the hotel. On arrival, they was only 1 staff member near reception but she was also serving in the attached shop, she was a little blunt but probably this was due to the fact she was Spanish, we think? The room was really great, we were in a Pirate themed room with a bunk bed and pull out for the 3rd child, en suite bathroom and double bed in the adult room (the room is split into 2 sections divided by the en suite like a kids and adults section), there was also 2 tvs as well and a treasure chest for the kids which contained 2 packs of Lego! We were in a room with an interconnecting door, which unfortunately, was open! We had to call reception and ask for it to be locked as there was a family in the room next door, they responded quickly in fairness. The pools were great, BUT if you are not swimming then you have no where to sit and watch your family swim other than by the lifeguards desk and watch through the door, which is a huge oversight by Legoland as they could have had a sitting area and even a cafe bar. The lifeguard was quite irritating when I went in to talk to my husband about how much longer they would spend in the pool, a little bit of power has gone to his head! The Executive Bar on the same floor as the pool appeared open but when I went in to get a coffee I was sent upstairs to the main bar? The restaurant was very good, there was a large selection of food for both adults and kids (buffet) and unlimited soft drinks, which was very good value for money (adults £18.95 kids £7.95 and a 20% discount for Merlin pass holders). The breakfast (iincluded) was also very good, no complaints. The Skyline Bar was nice and good to watch the kids in the play area, we had some food for lunch from there and we were impressed with the quality of it (sandwiches, whitebait and olives, houmous and pitta bread) - not cheap but very nice. The play areas are good with a big tree house and lots of lego bricks, particularly for children under 8 - the evening disco was a little disappointing as it was geared towards young children, perhaps they need to think about a disco for the slightly older children particularly as it was half term. The reception has a big pit of Lego bricks which is good when you check in and out. There was a brick building event on during the day in the park which was good, we were helped by 2 lovely members of staff John and Ben, they were helpful and chatted to us and the kids, finding coloured bricks for them etc... However, our experience of the other staff was average, no one really seemed particularly good (a young man called Mohammed helped us after we checked in, he was very helpful) but it appears that right from reception to restaurant staff, customer service was lacking! Those staff were not enthusiastic, they were paid to be there, not because they love their jobs like the staff we have met at Disneyland Paris, but just a job - this needs to be improved if the hotel wants to attract people back again. We will return again, let's hope the majority of staff have had a personality transplant by then!

we went on a winter special when park was closed so it was much cheaper than usual. My kids aged 10, 5 and 5 loved it from the minute they arrived as it was so much fun nd themed throughout. Rooms are very special with seperate sleeping area for the kids, own tv etc and a treasure hunt when they arrive to get a combination to open the safe and get a gift! Only downsideis pool area is small and pool was freezing!

We took our two children (girls ages 9 and 7) during half term for a one night stay. We had read good reviews and liked the idea of the themed rooms. The reception area is really exciting, full of lego characters and the staff were really friendly. The room was a Premium Kingdom room and the chilrdren loved all the theming. The room was really clean and the separate bunk room with tv went down well.

We had a sandwich in the bar and the children explored the play area. It was a bit too young for our older daughter but perhaps the whole place is really designed for 8 and under.

The kids loved the toilets that talk to you as you wash your hands.

The swimming pool is not quite a big as it looks on the photos and it was really chilly. There was a notice up explaining that it was cold but it was really very cold and meant that we didn't stay very long. All the mums in the pool looked uncomfortable!

There was a lego building area in the park and a film showing the history of lego which we watched. The staff were friendly but not very enthusiastic. There were just piles of lego to build with but no one helping or suggesting things to build which would have encouraged our children to stay longer.

Dinner was very busy as you would expect during half term. There was a range of food on offer and for £12 per head it was all ok, but not wonderful and the service is rather lacklustre. The models in the restaurant are fantastic though.

After-dinner entertainment was a disco for the children but mine were just slightly too old for it and it was very noisy and naff so we played with the lego in reception instead.

Our bedroom was very comfortable but even though we switched our air conditioning off there was still a noise coming from somewhere outside. This meant it took us ages to get to sleep and woke me up during the night.

Breakfast was very good with lots of choice to suit everyone and we all really enjoyed it.

Overall we paid about £200 for room and dinner and while it was fun I expected the quality of the food to be a bit better but perhaps I am being picky. It all felt a bit like going to a Motorway services or a Harvester.

We will go back to the park when it is open (they give you two free tickets if you book the hotel before March) but we wouldn't stay at the hotel again. I am sure if you have boys under 8 this is a dream location.

Room Tip: We stayed in 104 and there seemed to be some kind of airconditioning unit noise from elsewhere even...
