We found this pub almost by chance after a tour of the castle (also highly recommended). We were amazed to see a fabulous offer (despite the proximity to the castle - usually an excuse to hike up prices) of a meal and a pint for 6 quid. We took up the offer and we were very pleasantly surprised to see we could "upgrade" to a pint (not a bottle!!) of Peroni for 7 quid. The meal was not cordon bleu but it was well cooked satisfying and delicious. We have no hesitation, based on our experience, of warmly commending this pub to any visitors to the lovely town of Windsor.

We visited Windsor Castle this week and needed somewhere to have lunch and a pint.

We asked one of the Guides at Windsor if he could recommend anywhere and he pointed us in the direction of the Carpenters.

Excellent food, heaven for a real ale enthusiast and staff who were so knowledgeable and polite they will be difficult to better anywhere in the world.

A thoroughly fantastic venue................CAMRA members, if you are in the area this place is a must.
