With The Duchess pub just across the road, or should we say cannonball shot away (!) From the Castle, it is a pub that will welcome you as a tourist to the town or as someone who lives and works within the lovely city of Windsor. Freshly prepared for you at the time you order it. Yes, that is what we do at The Duchess. Guests of our lovely Windsor pub can relax as their food is prepared just they way they like it. Unfortunately the food was not. It wasn't terrible, but it didn't live up to expectations. Service was friendly enough, but slow. Prices were average for what you get. There are plenty of other places to try that are far better.

We didn't eat here, although the food looked lovely, and we heard one table say they enjoyed it very much!

I loved that they had Blue Moon on tap (served correctly: cold with a slice of orange!) and Brooklyn Lager - really unexpected. The decor is great, and we were very impressed with staff, too. However, I do have a complaint about the toilets, as in they were down two flights of stairs, and there was no ground level disabled toilet. This is simply not good enough. I have bad arthritis and because we were there a couple of hours and I needed to pop to the loo twice, I really struggled.

Great pub, but this is a serious issue and really puts me off going back. I just don't know how businesses can do this nowadays.

Go for a drink its cute sitting near the fire but honestly apart from the crisps do NOT order the food! It's disgusting and you can tell nothing is fresh! We ordered a beef suet pudding and it arrived rock hard with no juices. The veg was blatantly from a frozen bag and the chips which were crap were cold and soggy! They charge u £10 for this mess! Good for people who don't like food. Just go and take a beer much safer!
