Food was good value ( lamb shank, winter season veg and mash) good quality ale ( one is their own brew) and the design is very innovative- hard to describe but imagine open fires, wooden barrels as wall paper and military uniforms as seats.

We dined at The Duchess of Cambridge on a cold, rainy night and were welcomed to elegantly cozy surroundings. A fire in the fireplace added warmth to body and soul, and the low hum of conversation just made it feel more comforting. The style was of a moderately upscale restaurant, but the atmosphere was more like a pub with regulars sharing food and conversation. Across the street the lighted castle overlooked the area and made us feel as though we were dining with the Royals.

We ate in the dining room, but there is a separate bar area where guests may eat. The wait staff were friendly and were eager to help us navigate some of the items we didn't know. We enjoyed homemade steak pie brimming with vegetables and gravy. Portions were more than adequate, and we enjoyed wine and cocktails which were of high quality and sensibly priced. We look forward to visiting again when travel to Windsor.

Great food, get your moneys worth here, was packed when we went in and we were served quickly by a lovely chatty waitress food didn't take long, can't really fault this this place for a nice lunch. Can't comment on what it's like in the evening but plan on trying it out sometime.
Only fault really would be we had to wait a bit for a table and it was really busy, but it's busy because it's good.

I've just started work in Windsor so trying new places and what a treat this was! Great choices on the menu and the price is perfectly matched to the options, no wethersooons inspired pre-cooked food here! I opted for the fish special with bubble & squeak, my client the duck pie which looked and tasted divine - I had to beg a taste - really good food served on gorgeous plates. Although only 1 staff member working the floor, he had everything under control proving quality over quantity.
If I was visiting Windsor I would highly recommend a lunch here.
