Owner description: Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and offers an extraordinarily rich and varied day out. Throughout its history, the Castle has been redecorated, enlarged and rebuilt. Today The Queen spends most of her private weekends at the Castle, which is also used regularly for ceremonial and State occasions. Your ticket to Windsor Castle includes entry to our exhibition Waterloo at Windsor.

If you want to feel the British History not only to read about it this place should be a 'must visit' in your tour list. It is one of the best castles in the UK. Outside you can see beautiful gardens and mighty walls which are securing Her Majesty's sleep and inside you will find rooms with breathtaking weapons, armor, art and furniture. Too bad cameras are not allowed inside as the beauty and glory of the rooms is unbelievable.
Few tips: Any recording devices are not allowed when going inside the castle. Prams should be left in hall. Ticket price is £17.50 per adult but you can upgrade it to an annual pass. Audio tour is included in price and is in many different languages. If you are going by car find a car park near castle first and put it's address in sat nav instead of castle's as we found many car parks to be full. Book tickets online as you will avoid a massive queue outside, please note that you can't buy tickets online for the same day's visit. Check the date on castle's website as some of the rooms or Chapel can be closed that day.

This was one of the best attraction / tours we've ever been to. Superb quality, well organised, engaging audio tour etc. The maintenance of the building and artefacts is unparalleled. Everything felt like it was a labour of love.

Staff too were friendly, and there were plenty of them! I'd also say that for once there were not too many people in the way. It was busy of course, but not so busy that it ruined things.

One tip, car parking in Windsor is crazy. Give yourself time to find a space, time to walk to the castle and also remember change for the machines!

Changing of the guards. Audio's really good. Beautiful castle & church. Easy to look around this time of year, early May, not too crowded. Can come and go if you opt for yearly ticket by signing up for Gift aid. No food outlets so take your own or eat out and come back in as we did. Friendly staff.

Although a little on the expensive side, it was well worth the visit. If you intend visiting go early as queues soon build up especially during bank holidays

Windsor Castle is a must see. If you are coming from the city, there are available day tours that will bring you to the Castle, Stonehenge and Roman Bath. I must warn you though that it can be quite tiring since they are trying to get you to three places all in one day. The only disadvantage to this is you will find yourself rushing and skipping some things so you can head back to the bus in time. At the same time, the things to see can be quite overwhelming that you won't really mind not seeing everything. Oh, and don't forget to bring some snacks wilt you since there might not be enough time to sit down and have your lunch.

Once in Windsor Castle, make sure you don't miss the Royal Doll House, the Crown Jewels, the amazing China Collection and the Coronation Attire the royal family wore. These things are definitely worth seeing.

Also, should you decide to take the day tour with its last stop in Bath, consider staying in Bath for at least a day. It is such a beautiful place. You can simply take the train back to London.

Oh, one more thing. You are not allowed to take photos inside the castle. Just thought you might want to know that.
