This place needs to change!!...its not anywhere like a hotel. Lifts out of order, food expensively stupid...£15 for a club sandwich.....£18 if you wanted a pint of orange juice and lemonade with it. Jacuzzi not working (devoid of water & 'out of order' sign) poolside cold.
Stick with a big brand hotel for visiting Windsor please foreign visitors(Marriott)....THIS hotel is NOT representing English customer service or value for money...in any way.
Perhaps a corperate 'day camp' might be better use (seriously) where business 'pay' for their staff and may not be worried about 'comfort'..
The only thing positive to say is the picture of the hotel looked lovely and the grounds are really nice...but thats because its an old english house.....in a green area! Millions of places have this setting...its not enough to class the hotel as 'worth a visit'.
Dear Katie on reception was really helpful (whereas her counter-part needs to be sent to a back office until she learns what 'polite' means...such a rude person should NOT be on the front desk when 'customers' are near).
We asked to upgrade from the £70 a night broom cupboard......and we were dealt with by this person, like i had asked to be given the royal suite free of charge!! WE WANTED TO PAY TO UPGRADE. Four rooms 'offerered' by poor Katie (who had the numbers 'barked' at her from Hanna)...Are we fussy...NO!! Are the rooms small YES!!! The beds in the so called 'standard double rooms' were too small for me a 12st 5' 6" woman!!!!!! Room size about 11ft square (I am NOT exagerating!!)..these are SINGLE sized rooms guys!
I'm up early writing this because we are checking out today (3days earlier....loosing the money we paid...yes...but I DONT WANT TO STAY HERE!)
A WASTE OF MONEY...and my time! General manager certainly should preserve his career and change jobs soon! Even locally this hotel has a bad name!
BTW The view from our 'upgrade room' is the area where the staff go for their cigarette breaks (i dont mind smokers...i just call this a 'basic' room in my experience of hotels....IBIS Premier Inn quality BETTER!!!..no kidding!)
Lastminute should NOT be helping sell these rooms....lastminute has always given me good places to stay.......NOT this time!

Booked this place for last minute weekend trip to Windsor. Sounds nice in publicity stuff on line. BUT... possibly the worst hotel stay I have experienced. Double room was a single room with a small double bed in and we required a highly co-ordinated approach to move around it at the same time. We never quite got used to the strange smell reminiscent of blocked drains although after a bit didn't take notice of the damp patch on the wall in the corner. They had managed to squeeze a small table in to one end but there was only room for one chair.
A wedding was going on which seemed to overwhelm the hotel catering arrangements. We were informed after arrival that they would not be able to seat us in the dining room so we ended up with an overpriced cold meal (advertised as hot!) perched on our laps in the bar. The solitary barman on duty managed not to have a breakdown as people became frustrated at waiting half an hour or more to get a drink. When the lady bringing our meals told us we had to join the wait at the bar to get our cutlery she seemed to think that was perfectly acceptable! Talking to people who did manage to get a meal in the restaurant it appears that we didn't miss anything.
The evening was spent suffering loud disco music from the wedding as well as all manner of profanities from increasingly inebriated guests of all ages.
We didn't opt for the over-priced breakfast but instead headed in to Windsor for a very nice one in a local coffee shop, having paid over the odds for an awful hotel experience. I filled in the customer feedback form and surprisingly had a phone call from someone in the management office a few days later. As I was in a meeting I asked if they could phone back later. Not surprisingly, I am still waiting!

Here's one of those grand old places with a millstone around its neck from its past glories and reputation. As a result, anyone who's heard of it before is likely to have unrealistic expectations of some kind of romantic English country house hotel, deer roaming the grounds, Swiss-trained butlers waiting to meet and greet, etc.

You're not going to get any of that. But it's still an attractive property set in pleasant grounds, the staff aren't actually rude or incompetent, the decor is clean and quite up-to-date, and the food is good.

If you're travelling solo and you like a bit of space, see if you can stretch to a double. I got a single, and they really are tiny. There wasn't even room to put down my tray of beer from the bar - £4 for a bottle of lager, plus £3 tray charge, plus a percentage "discretionary" charge, which I found out about when paying! I object bitterly to this little scam. The rooms all have empty minibars - bring your own 4-pack and refrigerate!

A special mention needs to go to the breakfast. £17.50 plus VAT.... but freshly cooked to perfection. A real joy!

One last thing - if you're planning to drive somewhere during your stay, make sure you pick up a code from the reception first, as there's no call button on the barrier on the way out, and it's a frustrating walk back to the hotel.....

Me, my wife and some friends celebrated New Years Eve at Savill Court Hotel. My friend had already stayed here and recomended the hotel. I must say, it was a very good decission and money well spent. The over all experience was very good. As we walked in around midday, we were welcomed by smiling reception staff who happily gave us our room before the check in time. They were well trained and professional.
Our room was very comfortable with lovely view over looking the hotel grounds. We all then went to experience the spa, which was very relaxing.
The service in the evening and entertainment was excellent.
Breakfast on the new years day was very good and we were granted late checkout which helped us little bit to recover from last nights hangover.

Overall it was good New Years celebration.

Choice of food was average, well below the standard expected for a four-star hotel. The dinner menu and wine list were very limited, only basic fare on offer. The main dining room was closed for a private function, the replacement dining room used was only a basic meeting room, the room was very cold even with a heater on full blast. In its favor the hotel staff were helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortably. Even though the hotel is in a beautiful setting but we would not want to stay longer than one night.
