This is one of my favourite hotels in the area, at a relatively good value. A beautiful old manor house, in a lovely setting by the Thames, with a view of a lovely forest (even if it is a very thin forest covering farmland). The service is absolutely top-class, way above other similar hotels, the breakfast is very good and with excellent variety, check-in is smooth, dinner option is good if expensive. The rooms (and bathrooms) are well appinted, spacious, large beds, flat-tv - but some faults too, namely if you are unlucky enough to have a room such as the one I once had in the "Courtyard" (the old Stables), which had such creaky floors that every time the upstairs neighbour walked it felt like the ceiling was going to come down. Also, although the surrounding is quiet, the windows could provide a better sound and air insulation (the room was somewhat cold as the window was not airtight), and finally the shower-heads are relatively low - not convenient for tall people! Good facitilies (gym, pool, internet even if expensive, and a lot of parking space). Overall I'd come back, certainly a hotel with a lot of character.

We stayed at The Oakley Court Hotel surrounded by its beautifull grounds. A wonderfull gothic style building, with all modern convieniences, in sympathetically styled new additions. One of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time, staff a little slow at keeping coffee/tea topped up. I can reccomend this hotel .

When we saw it we fell in love with it ! There was always a parking spot, the front desk lady was very nice and helpful and breakfast was excellent. The staff was very warm and welcoming.
The room we were staying in was comfortable. We have 4 people in our family and it was very nice to have an extra cot. The bath was nice and the whole family loved the pool ! Our stay was awesome.

I had an awful experience at this Hotel. I woke to find that I had spent the night in a bed infested by bed bugs and was covered in bites - I still have the marks, and teh photographs to prove it.

Unfortunately the Hotel dealt with the situation, in my opinion, appallingly causing maximun distress and as a result I have taken legal action against the Hotel.

This allegation was brought to our attention in January 2007 and is still being investigated. The hotel was taken over by the current owners in December 2006 and as part of the ongoing refurbishment plans all mattresses and soft furnishings in our bedrooms have been replaced during 2007.

I have been at the Oakley Court for a seminar during last June. Luckily I was invited as speaker and I have stayed for only one night.

Service: the hotel is supposed to be 4 stars, but the service lacks for everything: no valet parking, no doorman, no lift, extremely rude reception staff, unhelpful concierge and incompetent restaurant staff.

Room: on the website they advertise the property as “Victorian Gothic country house hotel”. Actually, only the main building looks like gothic, because the rooms are in a modern building with no charm at all. My room was big but empty: only a queen bed, two armchairs, one little table, an old desk and a flat screen TV on a cheap glass table. That’s all. The room was not really well cleaned and an attendee of the seminars, who stayed there for three nights, said that her bed sheets were not fresh when she had checked in. Luckily that was not my case.

Food: it would be better to forget as well as the wine list: only cheap supermarket bottles, who costs as a "grand cru".

Meeting room: during the all day I have asked if it was possible to maintain a fix temperature in the room, but apparently that was an operation too complicate for the rude meeting coordinator. The temperature changes from 18 to 28 Celsius degrees, with no rules. By the way, only the high humidity in the room was stable and regular during the day, morning and afternoon.

What else? Try to avoid that hotel if you can.

Stayed here for one night in early august. We had had some questionable experiences with other Windsor hotels, but we are really glad we stayed here. We had a lovely room overlooking the gardens and the river, and it was very quiet indeed. Room was spacious, comfy, with soft sheets. A nice surprise to have complimentary bottled water in the fridge. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.

booked deluxe river view room, arrived at room for a romantic evening away with husband. The bath was so tiny and cramped it also had mould around the tub. The windows were very dirty and also had mildew. We asked to upgrade only to be shown another room called an executive room which was no better. We finally upgraded to one of best suites in hotel to find tatty paint work and very dated decor. The bed was a very cheap uncomfortable bed. This hotel has so much potential but I find it very difficult to agree with its four star rating.
