If you're looking for swanky and clinical, probably not for you. However, if you're looking for clean, comfortable, reasonably priced and very friendly, it's a great find. On my second stay (a few weeks after the first) the receptionist recognised me and greeted me by name then went straight into the bar to pull me a pint. Suberbly cooked steak with all the trimmings for about a tenner and tables to sit outside and watch the boats sailing past on the Thames. What's not to like ?

9 of us descended on the Thames Hotel for a noisy family get together. They couldn't be faulted.
Location is great, right on the river, with the bar and most rooms having a river view. My wife and I stayed in room TS1, if it is available, please grab it. Private balcony with amazing views. Their Italian restaurant Trevi was a real unexpected bonus. Great food at sensible prices. All the staff were very friendly. Highly recommended.

Very impressed with our one night stay here. Got a very good deal for during the Olympics. Good food at the Italian restaurant on premises. Helpful staff were happy to do us a cold breakfast very early in the morning.

Stayed on the 3rd floor - nice large room. This hotel is no fancy business hotel but the rates were good and accommodation in this part of the world is often pricey and difficult to find especially during royal Ascot week. The bar area is really OK and the dinning including breakfast is what you would expect from a hotel at this standard. There are not really any downsides to this hotel, good location - you can jog along the Thames, Maidenhead is a lovely place to go out in and obviously you are very close to Windsor and LEGOLAND etc. Thames Hotel is quite old and the fittings and facilities tend to show this so have a realistic expectation. My top floor room had a fairly useless shower but I have stayed in many worse places (some not that far away either). It's OK here, perhaps not quite the romantic setting you might want for a weekend away because of the age of the place but it suited my purposes.

Room Tip: No air con or lift facilities.

Stayed here for 3 nights and we were happy with the experience.
Rooms have evrything you need for short stay and the wi-fi works well.
Breakfast is good and plentiful.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights for business. The first two nights the room I stayed in had: a broken TV, no Internet access, it was cold, the water was at best tepid - never warm, and I could hear everything in the rooms next door. Each morning I complained about the water. On the 3rd night I was upgraded to an "executive " room - which was slightly larger from the small other rooms I stayed in. Still no hot water. The staff seemed to not transfer the messages between them about the water. The hotel is in a good location, but the view is not worth the cold shower.

I selected this hotel from an online website based on price, location and free parking, which can sometimes be problematic. When I arrived to check in, there was no record of my reservation, but I had my reservation number and they had one room left, so she honored the booking..and it happened to be an upgraded room with a patio and view of the Thames, which was delightful on the summer evening we arrived. Slightly less enchanting in the morning, however, when various geese/swans/waterfowl had some sort of upsetting altercation at around 5am and let loose with a long-lasting cacophony of honking. Don't know if that was normal or some unusual occurrence. The beds were very comfortable, but I agree with the reviewer who suggested a certain tiredness to the place -- the floor in both the bedroom and bathroom were very creaky, as well. I appreciated the biscuits and beverages provided, and we didn't get downstairs for the breakfast, so I can't comment there. I did chat further with the owner of the hotel the following day to sort out the disconnect on my reservation and he was very gracios and helpful, offering to assist me with baggage up the stairs. (Note: there is no elevator, so stairs will be involved.).(There is no swimming pool or fitness room but I couldn't seem to remove the rating I inadvertently pressed, so left it at average not to skew the review downward unintentionally...)

Room Tip: A room overlooking the Thames provides a most scenic outlook.
