“The Best Breakfast in England”
Reviewed June 14, 2011

We had the pleasure of staying with Vreny a wonderful host at Sunny Cottage in June. The home is beautiful and the room spotless. The gardens were supurb, there is a lovely conservatory overlooking them. We were there to experience lunch in neighboring Bray at Heston Blumenthal famous Hinds Head Hotel, which was GREAT. On our return, the weather had turned quite cold and wet, our room was warm and cozy, we had a long hot bath and slept in the big fluffy bed, the linen was so soft, just like a 5 star hotel. We woke to the most amazing buffet breakfast laid out in the dining room. Fresh fruits, large strawberries, homemade bircher style muesli, cheese, breads, croissant, 6 different styles of jam, 4 different types of butter. You could also opt for a full cooked breakfast but we just could not fit it in. The continental is the way to go!!! A wonderful little gem in Maidenhead.

Stayed one night. Very welcoming. Clean and comfortable. Lovely garden to sit out in.
The breakfast was superb. Huge choice. Fresh fruit, toast croissants, yoghurt, cereals, special muesli, and huge cooked breakfasts. The scrambled eggs were the best I have had.
None of us ate the rest of the day!
We would thoroughly recommend staying here!
Thank you for a very enjoyable visit!

Wonderful stay at the beautiful Sunny Cottage. Clean, spacious and comfortable rooms. All amenities you need. Amazing breakfast and very homely and friendly atmosphere. We were made to feel at home by the owner who is lovely. We will definitely go back again and recommend to our friends and family.

Vreny gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived, and showed us to the room I had requested - she was kind enough to suggest that we may prefer the Gold room as it has a bath, which is absent in the red, so promptly accepted her offer having seen both rooms. The rooms are tastefully decorated and set in a lovely garden. The dining room is splendid with a large table, rather regal chairs and a piano.
Vreny was aware we were going to the Fat Duck, so offered to organise a taxi for us. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. She was conversational without being intrusive.
We got up the next morning to one of the most impressive breakfasts I've ever seen, and we could not believe with the amount of food there, that we were the only ones dining. There was home made muesli, fruit salad, fresh fruit, croissants, cereals, home-made preserves and then a fabulous cooked breakfast - far too much for either of us to manage, more was the pity. I've previously stayed at Monkey Island hotel at Bray, and that was not a patch on Sunny Cottage. If I ever go back to Bray, Sunny Cottage and Vreny's hospitality will be my first port of call!

This b&b was a fantastic place to stay for a recent trip to the Hinds Head.

Vreny the owner was really helpful leading up to our arrival, letting us check in early etc. When we arrived we were so happy to find an immaculately clean, comfortable room and a beautiful garden we were invited to walk around.

The location was quiet and relaxing and the breakfast was as good as all the reviews say. Although we were the only people staying there that night Vreny laid on a huge spread for us and we felt very well looked after.

Vreny is very friendly and helpful (booking cabs, recommending pubs etc) without being in any way intrusive. I'll definitely go back if I'm in the area again.

We stayed for 3 nights in June. Great location for Legoland, Windsor Castle, and the Fat Duck., We did all 3. Taxi to the latter £7 there £10 return but that was at 1am.

Really well looked after, clean, great room, fab breakfast what more do you need.

Smiled everytime we drove past the Holiday Inn thinking how glad we had booked.in at Sunny.

We had a lovely stay, Vreny was very friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable and spotless.

We were dining at the Fat Duck which is only a short taxi ride away from Sunny Cottage - ideal.

And the breakfast was even better than my already high expectations, based on previous TripAdvisor reviews I'd read - the muesli is the best I've ever tasted!
