Large attractive Victoria building with parking space. Larger than average room for B&B or hotel, with wifi and television, nothing fancy, plain and simple not particularly attractive but functional.

Meet and greet staff member was very helpful and friendly as was the morning breakfast server. Breakfast was good and included fresh fruit salad, with a range of tasty fruits, much nicer than the tinned stuff often served even in 3 and 4 star hotels. Full breakfast presented and cooked well.

Not outstanding in any way but very good value for a night or two.

I wasnt expecting much but needed a place to rest our heads, 3 of us all adults, had a really good nights sleep and the owners where very accommodating, they allowed us to have breakfast early even though it was a bank holiday. Don't expect the Ritz and you wont be disappointed. We had room 4, this was a large room with ample space for 3 adults, The carpet in the room needed a vacuum and the wallpaper needed a lick of paint, but the en-suite was clean, the sheets pristine, fresh milk was delivered, the flat screen tv a good size for the room. The beds where comfy and unusually I slept well even though I was in a strange bed.
I will certainly use them again; £70 for 3 adults, a good nights sleep in a quiet room and a good breakfast, what more can you ask for.

Room Tip: room 4 was lovely, sunny and quiet, plenty of room for 3 adults

This has to be one of the quirkiest and yet most comfortable places we've stayed in! The building itself is a Victorian style, detached dwelling in a very well thought of area of Maidenhead. It is convenient for the railway station with services to London and Oxford which makes this a very good base for exploring the area around. It is also close to Cliveden which is a "must see" if you are in the area. There is convenient parking at the front of the building.

There are many original features, check out the sensational skirting board in the dining room, and there is an atmostphere that you are entering someone's home rather than business. We were made very welcome as soon as we arrived and were offered information of where breakfast would be and also some suggestions of where we could go to have an evening meal locally. It was a nice touch that we were asked when we wanted breakfast, rather than being told when it could be served to us. When we had breakfast we were very pleased with it. There was a more than adequate selection of cereals and orange juice to which we helped ourselves. We were offered the cooked breakfast as we sat down and when it arrived it was obviously freshly cooked with excellent quality ingredients and, most importantly, a fried egg which was not too greasy. There was a choice of white or brown toast which was much appreciated.
Our room was scrupulously clean and the bed very comfortable. There was wi-fi available had we needed it. Joy of joys - there was an ensuite bathroom and it was so nice to have the choice of using a shower or the bath. It has to be the biggest ensuite we have ever had in a guest house rather than a hotel and the clean white towels seemed very special in the sophisticated black and white decor with a very turn of the century feel.
The furnishing and decor is clean and tidy with a selection of furniture which mostly matches in the rooms. The addition of a fridge in our room we could see would be very useful for a future visit - especially if going up to Borough Market - as we could keep items fresh overnight. We liked the sense of "retro-chic" which the variety of furniture brought to the place. It made the place homely, which is the adjective which most sums this place up.
The handwash in the bathroom was welcome - some shower gel would have given just a little touch of more luxury. We liked the hodge-podge of furniture, but not everyone would appreciate it. People booking here need to remember this is a guest house rather a full blown hotel and their expectations, especially for breakfast, need to be set accordingly. As a guest house, it is the best we've stayed in and better than some supposedly up-market hotels. If anyone could find better value than this to stay in the Windsor/Maidenhead area we would be amazed and we will certainly be going back.

Room Tip: We found a room at the side of the house was quiet.

The room was clean and comfortable, the bed extremely so. However, inpossible to lower room heat to comfortable level.
However there was a complete lack of service at breakfast. No menu presented - no choices offered for toast (brown or white), choice restricted to 5/6 cereals. No fruits, yoghurts, etc. Cooked plate presented in a basic and simplistic way - eggs were not on toast as requested. Coffee was help yourself - no enquiry if other dirink was prefered. And with disappearance of waitress, a wait of 10 minuted to request more toast was eventually abandoned. And ultimately no interest as to whether the customer had been comfortable or satisfied.
The greatest advantage of this guesthouse is its close convenience to the centre of Maidenhead, particularly for pedestrians.

We arrived at the guesthouse for a three day stay this December. My husband and I and two children (15 and 19). We all stayed in the most gorgeous room that was spacious and cosy at the same time. The owners went out of their way to make us comfortable - including confiming train availablity for our next stop. Breakfast was wonderful too - accommodating a special request or improvising where they could. I wish we could have stayed here longer (three nights) as we felt rested and spoilt when we left.
