“Nice, quiet local place in Eton”
Reviewed August 27, 2011

August 13, after wading through the crowds of people around Windsor (which convinced us not to go in that day), we walked up Eton, on the way looking for someplace for lunch. There was nothing on the way. Someone recommended a place just over the bridge back in Windsor, but we found it very pricey and noisy. And we had already seen the crowded expensive places in Windsor. We decided to go back to the pub we had noticed on the Eton side, just west of High Street -- The Waterman's Arms, Brocas Street, Eton. On the bar was a sign for the special small bites of the day. The Scotch egg was huge. The beer was excellent and the food was tasty, but more important, reasonable and the ambiance neighborly. Had a nice chat with a local man who had just returned from a trip to the U.S.
