“Main restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

What a little gem, great setting, excellent attentive staff who were not stuffy, we had the normal 3 course lunch menu which was £29 and although not large quantity was great quality and well presented and was enough. If I had any quibble it would be that the wine list although vast, was also very expensive and could do with some more reasonable options. We had a carafe which was half a wine glass each and was nearly £30.. Ok if there was 6 of us but there was only 3..

“Gorgeous property, lovely food, excellent service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2013

My boyfriend and I popped down for lunch one afternoon. Neither of us had been to this particular 5* before but had heard a lot about it.
Driving into the grounds you get full view of the gorgeous property, along with views of the grounds.
We were met at the door by a friendly concierge and informed him that we would just like a relaxed lunch. He took us straight through to a beautiful restaurant room where we had the option of dining here or in the conservatory. We chose the conservatory so we could take advantage of the view.
We were immediately brought menus and drinks orders were taken (amazing cocktails!). The lunch menu we were given didn't have a massive amount of choice, but the food was delicious and well presented. The staff were attentive at all times and made sure we didn't want for anything. The weather wasn't great so we opted not to walk around the grounds, but we will definitely be back - hopefully next time we will stay for the night and be able to experience more of what this gorgeous hotel has to offer.

“5* afternoon tea”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013

I booked afternoon tea in the restaurant for a special occasion for me and my mother. From the moment we walked in we felt instantly relaxed and welcomed. The hotel is stunning - from its beautiful position in the Berkshire countryside to the stylish interior. We were quickly seated and offered a choice of 20+ teas. We ordered the peppermint and English breakfast varieties which were poured for us by our lovely hostess. We wanted to have one vegetarian gluten free tea. This could have been seen as an inconvenience but they did not bat an eyelid and happily catered to our dietary needs. The sandwiches were delicious and the cakes were light, sweet and interesting. I've been to a few afternoon teas and it is great when the restaurant offers a twist on the norm. The highlight was a chocolate and ginger layered sponge. We loved it so much that when the hostess boxed up our leftovers (we were stuffed!) she kindly included two extra portions. All in all, it was a great way to spend an afternoon and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you to the wonderful staff for making us feel so welcome! We will definitely come again.

“The best food I have ever eaten!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013

We went for Valentines evening and were treated very well from the moment we arrived with a red rose and sparkling wine. We had a four-course meal with accompanying wine and each course was utterly delicious, looked a picture on the plate and had multiple elements that complimented each other and created flavours that were superb! The staff were most helpful and there was very informative sommelier. This really was the best food I have ever eaten (even compared to a Michelin starred restaurant!). This is a place to go for a real treat, or if you just feel like having an amazing dining experience.
Oh, and the setting of Coworth Park is beautiful too.
