We booked for Sunday buffet for an 18th birthday and had, more or less, one of the upstairs room to ourselves. Nice setting and polite staff. The buffet was lovely: authentic thai food (being enjoyed by lots of thai's, families and couples) Full of flavour, buffet constantly refreshed, plenty of choice for 3 courses. spectacular seafood soup. Excellent value at £8.95 per head, but having lots of food means nothing if food is not good, and this was top notch :-)
We were permitted to take in own 'fizz' as it was a party at no corkage charge ( but we did also buy drinks to start off with - that seems fair.) We appreciated this.
Definitely try Thai Orchid: Better book for Sunday buffet as it was packed. Buffet is downstairs and so if you are in the rooms on the first floor obviously you are carrying food upstairs (frequently!) but if you are sitting downstairs people are going past constantly to get food so if you want a more relaxed environment get a table upstairs. If you like being part of hustle and bustle you won't mind the throng and can sit downstairs.. At other times this would not be an issue. Parking behind - 2 minute walk.
They gave the 'party girl' a pretty little gift which was a thoughtful touch.. Really nice lunch, thanks.
