Lack of fresh ingredients, an owner far too far up his own bottom to realise the competition are far better and cheaper and working harder, all the dishes taste the same, the ingredients are good and the quality of cooking is poor. Like the sister restaurant Chutneys in Shaftesbury, not good enough and resting on its laurels, bad menu, poor chef, go to Shah Jehan - it is twice as good and much better value

When staying in Salisbury we chose the Hox Brasserie on TripAdvisor recommendations to go with another family. We visited on a Friday night with 4 adults and 3 young children. We were welcomed with large smiles from the staff and quickly seated. Drink and popadom orders were quickly taken and we felt immediately relaxed.

The menu is wonderful with both traditional Indian dishes and newer dishes; the hardest thing is choosing what to eat. The restaurant was full and so the food took some time to arrive but the owner and waiters were great with the kids who never got bored. It was well worth it when the food arrived, some of the best Indian food we've eaten - and we love Indian food.

Apart from the food the restaurant itself needs to be celebrated; it's modern and airey and relaxing - impressive to pull that off. And the manager is a joy to meet; he deserves all success.

If you're looking for a great evening out with tasty and interesting Indian food; visit the Hox Brasserie.

After using trip advisor we visited for a meal on a week night . Excellent service and delicious food we shared a mild but tasty lamb curry and a tandoori plate which was well cooked and tasty. Overall very good fresh Indian food.

We could not fault the food at this restaurant and the service was excellent. My only concern was the state that the menus are in. They look as though they have been in service for many years and they were not very nice to even handle!! Come on Hox print some new ones.

We recently moved to Salisbury and a friend recommended Hox. The restaurant is located on the edge of town very near the station. If you are travelling by car, it is easy to park outside in the evenings. Thos seeking views of the Cathedral and meadows would be disappointed but the vista is not what Hox is about. Eating here is an absolute delight. As an ex-London foodie, my standards are high and I am often disappointed by mediocre provincial food at high prices; not so at Hox. The food outstanding - and good value. The curries are fresh, light, and explode with the flavour of fresh spices. The staff are courteous and charming. We have now visited the restaurant about half a dozen times with friends and family and have never been disappointed. Takeaways also delicious!
