Quintessential Old English Pub - no website, don't take credit cards and looks as if it has not changed for 50 years! It was not even on Trip Advisor until now! We have driven by this pub many times and finally had time to stop and sample - glad we did. It looks like someone's thatched cottage apart from pub sign and benches in front garden. You go inside and it is like stepping back in time, tiled floor, odd chairs/tables and pub paraphernalia all about. Three small adjoining rooms (snugs) and two small bars plus a small courtyard garden at rear. It's a Ringwood pub so serves local ales. Food well that is baguette or local Wiltshire pasty - they do have BBQs on weekend evenings (£3). So pleased to find an old fashioned pub that is not a chain, or has been turned into a gastro pub! Another pub nearby in same mould is the Royal Oak at Fritham. Pubs like the Cuckoo Inn are National Treasures and should be protected!
