“Break with friends.”

Salisbury is real interesting town, very old and quaint with a fine Cathedral and grounds but the main reason of us going there was to see our very old friends.
Cathedral view was built at the latter part of the 17th century. We had a front twin bedded room which overlooks the Cathedral. We thought it would be noisy because it also faces the main road, but it wasn't. The room had a tea and coffee making facility and as for the 'home made' biscuits made as I understand by Wenda, were something to die for!
Our 'hosts' Steve and Wenda proved to be very knowledgeable and explained all there was to see and do in Salisbury.
We had a special evening with our 'friends' in a local restaurant the name was provided by Steve, another one of his special favours! All in all a wonderful time was had by all and our thanks go to Wenda and Steve for being wonderful hosts.

We stayed just one night at this excellent B&B. This was our last night in the UK before returning home after 5 weeks of fairly constant travel and we were not disappointed. We received a very friendly welcome from Steve and Wenda with Steve showing us to our very comfortable, clean and quiet room, with ensuite, facing the rear of the property. Our breakfast provided next morning by Steve and Wenda was superb.

We were impressed with Steve’s tourist advice, especially about Salisbury Cathedral and his suggestion that if we were still at the Cathedral at 5.30pm, we could stay and sit in the Choir stalls for Evening Song. Which we did and it was a worthwhile experience. He also suggested a number places to have dinner, mentioning the Cloisters Hotel which offer a 10% discount if we mentioned that we were referred by Steve. We did and had one of the best pub dinners we experienced during our travels through the UK and Ireland.

We were given a parking permit and parked the car across the busy road from Cathedral View. Arriving and leaving during peak hour and with heavy luggage means you have to be a little patient crossing the road.

Salisbury is well located for an easy drive to Heathrow via Stonehenge, where we spent about one and half hours with hundreds of others before continuing our drive to Heathrow for an evening flight.

Our stay in Salisbury and at Cathedral View B&B was all too brief and we have no hesitation in recommending Cathedral View B&B.

My husband and I stayed here during a return visit to England. While we stayed in "fancier" properties in other cities, we were extremely impressed with the cleanliness and care we received at Cathedral View. Thanks to Steve's (our host) helpful suggestions, we were better able to enjoy the sights and culinary delights of the city. He even helped us With our VERY heavy luggage during our stay, sorted out our train schedule,
and ordered us a taxi when it was time to leave. I wish we could have stayed longer!! You can trust all the great the reviews they have received!!!!

Can't say enough about this great B&B! Steve and Wenda were perfect hosts! Friendly and helpful, offering great sightseeing or restaurant advise (loved The Cloisters!) and lent us umbrellas when it rained. Lovely old home that exudes charm. We had room #4 on the third floor. Quiet, very comfortable and clean. Fresh flowers in the room and fantastic English breakfasts made this a perfect stop while in Salisbury. Wonderful location right across from the Cathedral and Steve's guide for the cathedral close and city were great! Sad to leave and hope we can return someday! Highly recommend!

Found Cathedral View using TripAdvisor and don't know why it isn't #1. Wenda & Steve make you really feel welcome. They can offer suggestions for things to see & do in the area. They have a great relationship with a number of local restaurants so customers can get deals because they are guests of Cathedral View.
Rooms are clean and comfortable but not large but who needs a large room when you are going to be out seeing the sights.
Located right across the street from the Salisbury Cathedral so it is easy to visit and take your time at this amazing sight.
Steve makes breakfast to your order and seems to take a real interest in making sure it is to your liking.

Wenda and Steve have taken care of every little detail, from extra hooks in the bathroom to Wenda's homemade cookies on the tea tray. Breakfasts are cooked to order, with Steve's freshly made fruit salad to accompany them. Steve goes out of his way to provide tourist advice for those who want to go to Stonehenge, view the ancient cathedral, or just have a wonderful dinner. Go and stay here if you want to be well looked-after! Wenda and Steve are truly devoted to their inn. We will miss them.

The best compliment that I can give is to use Southern(U.S.) terms in the title to describe how wonderfully Steve and Wenda treat their guests. They are so friendly and gracious that they quickly move past being hosts, and become friends.

Our room was, of course, exceptional, as were the breakfasts. This year we stayed two days, because we found that one day of this great place wasn't nearly enough.

Steve has done a lot of research to provide guests with a full experience of Salisbury, from the fascinating Cathedral Tower Tour to the guided walks that allow you to see sights that you would otherwise miss.

We haven't been gone long, but we are already looking forward to our next stay.
